That's right -- the dust boxes were removed and never replaced, because it costs money to dispose of garbage. Unfortunately, disposal involves incineration, and burning all that plastic packaging is not good for our health. The author wisely suggests a return to the "Furoshiki" carrying cloth; we should ask ourselves why that won't happen. Does plastic packaging represent progress?
(I also found myself walking around with pockets full of litter...)

Mino Monta is a good comparison (with Beat Takeshi) because he also bullys his guests and his support staff into meek submission. They cannot utter a peep out of turn, but Monta is always coughing and hacking like a smoker, his back constantly turned to the camera and interrupting anyone who dares speak for more than a few seconds. A producer's worst nightmare!

Yeah, of course I noticed. She was 79 years old and riding a bike because she doesn't have a car. And she was mowed down by some 38-year-old high school dropout too busy playing with his cell phone to pay attention to his job.
I don't think she was "weaving around the road" and I don't think the victim caused this accident.
As someone whom has experienced an incident very similar to that described earlier by titian, I say...
