    "I'm not interested in victory."

    • President Barack Obama, replying to a reporter at the G-20 who asked about confrontation with Iran. Video available on Youtube.

I personally know hundreds of Canadians who moved to Cuba after watching Sicko.

Moore is a genius of sorts.

Yeah. Like another speech, added to hundreds Obama has made already, is going to change anything.

      • ' "Wasn't McCain the one singing, "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran?" So, by the man's own words I think it would be fair to say that we would already have a nuclear war had he been elected. '

Yeah. Except for that wee little body called the Congress, and things like the War Powers Act.

Of course, adults who have seen the tape of McCain singing his little ditty understand the spirit it was done in.

That ability is lost when too much Alex Jones and too much conspiracy theory has warped your mind.

    • -"You seem to be convinced that Moore doesn’t know what he believes, but you base that on nothing other than him ironically stating that he doesn't believe communism is necessarily the answer."

LFRA - I judge him by his actions. Perhaps what I should have said is that he doesn't believe what he preaches. He has a huge house in a very exclusive part of Michigan. He sends his kids to private schools. His stock portfolio included Halliburton, Boeing and defense stocks. The title of this article is more or less right on: Showmanship Moore's top commodity in 'Capitalism'

Funny, my supposed abhorrence of all things leftist not withstanding, my "blog-fed ideological zeal" compels here to quote the views of uberlib dahling Arianna Huffington on Moore's latest offering:

      • “In the film, Michael describes capitalism as evil. I disagree. I don’t think capitalism is evil. I think what we have right now is not capitalism.”

Again, even without having seen the movie, I say that he comes with half an argument, and does so deliberately.

Besides, Obama is too busy trying to destroy his country to worry about us helping you in whatever way save yours.

So tell me LFRAgain, if I have misrepresented him what does Mr Moore believe?

After supposedly diagnosing the ills of a system that has created the highest standard of living ever known on this earth what does the movie 'Capitalism' suggest we replace it with?

Like most - scratch that - all leftists, Moore is only up for half an argument or a debate.

Reuters reported on the 19th that at a conference about his new film Moore admitted "he was not in favor of embracing communism as an economic system, and hinted he may have overstated his argument to make a point with the audience."

Imagine that. He doesn't know what he believes, but for twenty bucks you can help comfort poor fat millionaire Mikey and help him sort out his bad faith.

Old PT Barnum was right when he said that a credulous person who will grow up to be a lefty is born every 60 seconds or so; or however the saying goes.

Just look at the fans here of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the genocidal Shiite regime that appointed him.

Until recently I had always thought that the long and shameful leftist inclination to make apologies for totalitarians such as Fideal Castro or Mao Tse Tung or Josef Stalin was based in large part on an antipathy to religion they shared with these figures.

The appearance of this Ahmadinejad character though, makes me despair even more for democracy in the West. The man is bat sh-t crazy, touched by an insanity displaying clear and strong religious components, and still you can encounter on this forum someone like a Smith in Japan insisting it's 'moronic rhetoric' - no, not Holocaust-deniers who dream of a thermonuclear Final Solution - which poses the greatest threat to world peace.

    Simply incredible.

Both first couples seem clueless when it comes to protocol but the American side is worse - First Lady Michelle Obama showed up last week to a Medal of Honor ceremony at the WH in a red and white dress, green leather pumps and big ol' chandelier earrings. President Obama bows to odious thugs like the King of Saudi Arabia and warmly embraces Hugo Chavez.

Or maybe there are other reasons for such lapses and incidents...

    Absolutely great speech by Netanyahu.

Obama, on the other hand, made me ashamed to be American.

America is post-racial. This article is right - 'racist' has lost its meaning and the once-useful capacity to end debate that soi-disant liberals and progressives were losing.

Only Europe can save Europe. The prognosis don't look too good. Same for Russia and Great Britain.

America, as soon as we can get a sane majority of leaders up to Congress in 2010, should focus on countries committed to free markets and the values of Western civilization.

    Tin-eared, ham-fisted, and riding for a fall:

"A Franklin and Marshall College poll to be released today offers a few key clues. The national survey of 1,046 people, including 900 registered voters, found that only one in five considered health care to be the most important problem facing their families today."

These "rallies" get far more dangerous and violent than any of the recent tea party rallies did. I'm confident that the mainstream media will be fair and balanced in their reports, but only when and if one of their own gets killed or maimed at a G-20 protest.
