I hear airbus were the winner at the recent paris airshow re orders of their equivalent to the 787. Boeing don't need much more bad news. However this sector of the plane sales is expected to be a very big market in the next decade so Boeing have alot to loose/alot to gain.

"deficit widens on import costs" This is the biggest problem that abenomics is not looking at.
Japan needs to sort out its energy supply now that its scared of nuclear. It costing the country all the fuel they are now importing. Forget what abenomics can do with the risk that involves.
Also when will the lazy international media realize that the yen isn't weak..it's just not stupidly high as it was recently, just now high. Just stop looking at then editing and printing a forex graph that has only a couple of years on the scale and call that news.

This was news a couple of years ago I recall when they were looking at alternative location to base u.s. troops.
I thought at the time the brasher Osaka people would be better equipped than their more timid neighbours down in Okinawa to deal with out of line behaviour from troops that you inevitably get anywhere they are based round the world.

China and Sk would hate it if Japan shoehorned daily like for example the uk does another patriotic war related themed story into their tv coverage to pay homage to the efforts of their people during previous wars.
Maybe China and Sk should behave to Japan more like the uk and others in terms of their attitude to Germany as they like to quote Germany so much. They will also see then that most countries at least once a year pay respect or thought to their military.
I think Japan doesnt much if at all by comparison shoe horn the military into daily Japan life, so once a year is a very little deal. Reaction is mostly just politics from SK and China for their own internal means.

Looks like the just one Okinawan person they reported from in this article (news title then changes to [whole] Okinawa demands), it looks like they twisted what he said, then got upset - as he was talking about the sex industry not Okinawan people.
Although it's not hard to see that talking in his general tone would ruffle feathers in Okinawa.

so from Hashimoto's own words:
"It is a result of the tragedy of the war that they became comfort women against their will. The responsibility for the war also lies with Japan. We have to politely offer kind words to [former] comfort women."
time to politely act as he says.
The bbc was one of only a few English language sites I could find that made an attempt to report more of Hashimoto's original speech and add a bit of "context" to it. Most other English language reports just reported the headline comfort women necessary and didn't report the rest of what Hashimoto had to say. I would expect that from news sources/governments/china/SK that are just trying to stir emotions or get web page clicks.

Also there are plenty of stories on JT covering untrustworthy US exporters sending product that does not fit the legal requirements as previously agreed for import to Japan. Quality(even health) as well as economics with be dimensions of FTA.

really??
That's why some US farmers are pushing for legal protection to make it harder to investigate bad farmers, which there are enough. search BBC for US animal laws 'may impact globally': www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-22098224

smithinjapanAPR. 01, 2013 - 03:38PM JST I see Google and Samsung have yet again quickly latched on to an Apple idea. They'll probably try to make their versions the size of your lower arm.
Dd you read the article? the following part for example: The idea of the connected watch has been around for at least a decade: Microsoft had one in 2003. And some devices are already on the market including from Sony, the crowdfunded maker Pebble and Italian-based firm i’m.
just like their ipad, I guess Apple copied from Microsoft again ...(sarcasm)

International news reporting is so brief. Wheres the chart that shows the yen is still very high as opposed really very high a few months ago compared with normal before the current finacial crisis from 2008. The difference is massive.. It's still high, calling it weak just shows the weak reporting we get for news.
