Either way, bring the money.. don’t bring your worst in the developed world airline service standards.. probably not gonna to wash with these customers. Although the JAL air hostesses could have an easier job for the same money.. but they probably have too much pride, so not gonna lower their standards.

“They have disabled all USB drives on Navy computers, so if you want to take work around with you, you need to burn it to a CD, load it to your home computer, burn it to another and load it back at work. Until they start selling software via thumb drives, I expect CD drives to remain.”

I guess you must be breaking their rules then by putting data onto an unprotected cd/dvd that could be left anywhere.

I also guess they haven’t issued enough protected encrypted usb flash drives like “military grade ironkey” and made and exceptions in their usb lockdown policy so those devices can be used.

I guess with the above scenario then pcs without optical drives will become preferred by all branches of government everywhere.

"Can't help but think that growing incidents like these makes foreign men think twice about marrying Japanese women."

so they should at least think more than twice :-) there will be plenty of issues to over come the living somewhere else with a lower standard of living etc.

"The convention seeks to ensure that custody decisions are made by the courts in the country where the children originally lived"

they seem to fail to understand why alot of international marriages break up or have problems with lets say in these related case Japanese making sacrifices living abroad and the strain that entails.. often hidden to less sensitive partner who doesn't see it coming the split or the strain of the country based issues in the first place that often cause these types of events.

"in just two years the iPhone has taken 13 percent of the market globally in just 2 years, mostly from nokia. same plastic n silicon. that 13 percent of users are not stupid, they are discerning consumers "

that made me laugh... discerning... most of them? yeah right? just following trends like buy the latest fashion handbang.

i dont think most of the people that will use win 7 either will be discerning, just look at the holes in this article for example.

cant agree with a lot of statements in this article. Some is true, but others plainly not , like the upgrades, start up time, 64 bit, etc. Check out a more pro review for more reliable info.

its like going shopping at the local "super" market with shelves stacked by spotty teens who couldn't give a *** treating your food dangerously and without care.. in fact playing with it for their own amusement only.

Never understanding the customer and never understanding or caring about how they might care about food and what they are buying.

No wonder the buyer is cautious and doesn't trust. No mater the science or "standards" or "Agreements" or "promises" written on paper ( for what they are worth - not much).

kind of giving it to him for future potential not past work...maybe to encourage him to follow through and deliver some results in the world.

wow no! So maybe not so worldy wise?

" I really want foreigners to see the play, because part of it deals with racial prejudices. "

    why not?

All countries I know have racial or prejudices against foreigners and its not hidden, in the news every day, with news sources propergating stereotypes and not increasing misunderstandings. Many people are very vocal about their dislike(fear) of foreigners. In politics in many g8 countries it has become more and more of an issue in recent years and has resulted in tougher migration and costly migration rules. ( Japan is quite cheap in that respect)

So maybe he is not so wise to the outside world to realise that he does not need to hide this kind of this from the foreigner... "foreigners"(and "locals") have to deal with this the world over.

The difference between uk and japan way of business is:

    one concentrates on cutting costs

the other concentrates on delivery or product, function and the end use/service/customer experience.

In one country stuff works. In the other its cheap to source, but importantly only for the supplier as they will still slap a large markup - so essentially customer gets expensive and cra*PPy product/service.

If you want good service and latest products and higher standard of living, where are you going to live? Aahh but the the uk is way more casual and you dont have to work so hard so sometimes it doesnt matter if stuff doest work, food is rubbish, service was terrible, couldn't get there on time anyway, etc.

I'm sure all of that would be lost on mandleson. I suspect the Japanese govt or any Japanese with uk experience will already politely know that ( with out of course characteristically telling mandy that to his face)

How could Japan benefit from the uk? the uk benefits from Japan because it has a a lot to learn from Japan.

However regardless of the money flow from Japan, the benefit is usually for the locals in the case of the uk. The uk is quite restrictive and expensive on Japanese coming over.

I think Japan should be a bit careful ( as it is)... it could be dreadful for Japanese people if the uk approach of business was used to run many of Japan's companies... a real step backwards... shall we start with the trains, cost cutting sh*t infrastructure and service, hotels, etc, etc

maybe no one has the right to tell others what they can or cannot do ( but depends what you you mean "right").

But that is what diplomats are for building trust and then maybe the others may listen or even agree with your point of view or try to do things in mutual interest.

....Or you could go for bomb the sh*t out them approach that is popular with some regimes. But never get any "real" friends that way.

"Chances are when you she gets older you won't see that skin or her walking around in a bathing suit."

eeer were talking about Japan today and Japanese women so its very likely that people will see her for the rest of her life like that ( well not as toned of course) because of the hot springs and bathing together culture.

I hope they also target the false accusation and bribery from some women re groping as the consequences for their victims are far greater and I think this is a far far magnitudes more serious crime than groping.

Where as some say a slap in the face would deal with a groper and maybe some of these women don't really think groping is that serious anyway if they go round falsely accusing people of it so they can bribe them or just for kicks. Quite scary really being a man on a commuter train in Japan sometimes.. could have a massive impact on your life.

But not to say its just the men that do the groping either, but it will more likely be them that are victims of these false accusations.

but the number of its users is still a fraction of those of News Corp’s MySpace or of Facebook

but nothing as mixi are not targeting outside japan.

This is a japanese product only.

likewise in recent news stories facebook admit they are struggling in asia due to earlier market leaders in korea, china and japan each with their own popular systems and different approaches.

Many Japanese I know struggle with facebook(i dont really know why) but find mixi intuitive and more comfortable - maybe its having your own profile with pics that they are not comfortable with - I'm not sure.

For a news source with more beef on the last point in this article which you could in this JT (re?)produced article is presented as "irrelevant" or misleading if talking only about Japan or Japanese users; check out here for starters: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8256997.stm
