    there's also some things you cant even compare price on because you can only get that level of service or infrastructure etc in Japan, whether it because other countries are years or decade behind or just don't get it.

    Besides, the Japanese people will listen to the Emperor as opposed to listen to some other rubbish and the foreign press is happy to pick up these routine end of years stories after a less than routine year. Think about it.

    oh come on! where are the next Olympics???..in one of the countries with one of the worst obesity issues and unhealthy lifestyles!!

    Japan the only g7 country that doesn't have an obesity /health issue.

    longevity and health right up at the top.

    a bit of smoke give me a break!

    At least they know how to find an ASHTRAY for their stubs, instead of the road/side walk water ever!

    Maybe if they want to learn about smoking maybe international visitors could learn about manners.

    the media show continues, press conferences, etc....

    Well its that completely unexpected and funny for someone who is greedy and self interested (irony)... looks a bit too greasy for his future career prospects...but anyway its only the1% as some would say.

    he's not clearing up any mess ...he has his own self interests to boot too

    You would know and prejudge that so quickly?... there are reports of him being he not the most liked person in divisions of olympus around the world and that evaluation has nothing to do with his current spat with the board.

    There's no way Mr Woodfood has any great future in Olympus.

    He is just trying to save face himself and being selfish again.

    He has enough haters from his own work at Olympus in the last several years.

    No way Mr Woodfood.

    Get someone else who's more trustworthy and not greedy if you want major reform.

    It's predictable the unquestioned support that there is from some quarters maybe from other belittled foreigners when they know very little about the man or company.
