The strength of the British pound or not is not relevant to Japans comment on the EU.

For reference British pound versus yen was around 250yen per pound a few years ago..now is almost half that thanks to carry trade and the yen seen as a safe currency. The pound most certainly isn’t strong now..it doesnt buy you much round the world these days, even in the EU.

Its funny how arm chair experts jump to conclusions so easily. I heard allegations that Mr Woodfood is not such a great guy either with various things to hide or not be proud of.

Anyway who ever you believe or want to complain about straight away, I wouldn't be surprised to hear more news come out of this spat, depending on whether others will or need to spill the beans ( mr woodfood has been fired after all so maybe thats enough for them).

"Its about 30min by train to Matsushima, then the tour is about 30 min, and back 30min. You can't get lethal dose of radiation for 90min in Matsushima, and the view is priceless. As they say, people suffer but from their own stupidity."

...or the stupidity of others even.

Seems so few people learnt anything from chernobyl and all the international studies there concluding stress was the only real health problem. Good luck measuring radiation on your cheep Chinese made radioactivity meters that give false results and add to your panic again.

The title is INCORRECT, should say: ...

ELEVATED Radiation LEVELS found in rice from Fukushima Pref; more tests planned.

    ...

Radiation can be found in all sorts of food and drink you intake daily round the world dont ya know.

smith "I stick to my original point, Japan has no right to criticize other nations on matters that require transparency from the federal government. I gave you facts to back that up, but feel free to ignore them further."

Your having a laugh... like show me a government around the world that doesn't have questions raised about their transparency. If talking about China that would be a prime example. Anyway deflecting concerns about one country in this case China ( which to boot has a bot of track recorded related to this) by matters of another country doesn't change facts, concerns or justifiable questions.

"It may be bad for your health but for other reasons: iodine, cesium, etc. Sake is made from rice. I will not be drinking sake for many, many years (if at all, ever).

I think 90% of your posts have to do with radiation or cesium. Agenda much?"

Its call stress, paronia, etc; that is the biggest problem post nuclear disasters. The only thing relevant groups should do for that group of people is education as well as the solidarity already described.

I guess they cant wait to embarrass the usa, it kind of like an official seal now to their Israeli bias, us politics and lobbying, and blind eye to bullying ( oh whats that the bullied person punches back, well i never),warcrimes, etc, etc, etc that is standing in the way or peace.

But like the US/Israel will care anyway and spin it into another story to justify it to themselves and the rest of the world will pretend to believe the USA to keep the ah meh "peace".

As proven already in other disasters and shown in this disaster too, stress is the only killer and health issue to worry about and tackle in any significant numbers. Looks like they are going in the right direction then
