"Why has this never happened here in Japan?? "

    thats obvious.

"Anyway, I hope the experts can find out soon enough to avoid future accidents like this. RIP dead folk out there in China"

I'm expecting more self inflicted accidents.

why am i not surprised. fake fireworks fake this and that fake apple, copy this and that..ah the rest of world not just Japan is starting to learn the first rule of Chinese business..dont trust any one. may be when they drag them selves from rank 100 economy wise they will employ better business ethics.. but i doubt as living a dream or making money at any cost lack of respect for legal rules etc, china is too famous for that.

    anyone for a Chinese train?

"They didn't cry like babies because they lost. They held their heads high. "

    ??

not what i saw. infact the opposite.

It was worthy and more important that Japan won the best behaved in the tournament...again a contrast to quite a number of american supports who instead of just supporting their team show their low class by concentrating on being offensive/rude/racist to the over team/country on and off the pitch. Also there was some questionable usa behaviour on the pitch that they got away with from the ref. when should have been given fouls etc. but i suspect for usa best behaved is not important as they are famous as the most rudest team, so a to loose on the only way they think is important is funny.

I think its a fair request by Japan and nothing strange at all and nothing to do with whether you agree with whaling or not. Australia's response seems very hypercritical...say one thing do another. Where are "they" registered again?

"And as for overseas regulatory agencies, they practice what is called pencil sharpening in the US nuclear industry, shifting the goalposts whenever there is a problem, or claiming the original specs were too stringent, and this will do."

I heard that fukushima had american origins...

more fuel on the evil crime ridden foreigners story for the Japanese who of course didnt need to think about security and evil people so much when left to themselves.

"After Operation Tomodachi you have no complaints about this, right?"

    you got to be joking!!

    irrelevant.

The usa want to be in Japan period.

The burden they put on the locals is always there. Whether there are some good america actions doesnt wipe away those problems and burdens.

There was also maybe some pretty poor american actions too during the recent times. Maybe if they just did some more scare mongering then some of the families would leave again like they did after the fukushima panic and maybe they could lower costs.

Maybe if the USA didnt build such poor nuclear reactors for Japan there wouldnt be panic, but anyway. Funny how the Japanese is not trying to sue America like in the Toyota USA mindset....so may just the recent good behaviour is just some payback or covering themselves.

But anyway all of the above re the recent event is irrelevant. The usa want to be here and the burden continues on locals.

This article if read at face value kind of presents some glaring errors of either written/translated nature or just basic understanding of the disaster.

"It was the first time foreign leaders have visited the city since the tsunami knocked out the plant’s cooling systems, leading to radiation leaks and the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents"

    Really?

"Before meeting the victims of the nuclear accident in the afternoon, Wen and Lee traveled separately to areas in Miyagi Prefecture, also hard hit by the 9.0 magnitude quake and ensuing tsunami."

Really Miyagi was also hard hit? uh didnt know (sic)... basically it was by magnitudes worse off compared to Fukushima.

Also, yawn, in the run up to this meeting there was the usual toys out of pram moments from these neighbours about where to hold the talks.

    How messed up.

Seeing as stress is the only thing that has killed anyone so far, then keep up the good work to minimize the impact.
