What's wrong with wanting an investigation into whether or not the government had a hand in 9/11? I think it's a perfectly legitamate question. If no one did anything, they won't have anything to hide.

Well I can't say I'm surprised that many posters here feel threatened by a real woman like Shizu-chan. Just because she looks like she could kick your a$$... I guess the squeaky-voiced, emaciated talentos do it for most here. No threat there, no brain either.

I imagine none of the posters who say it is weird have ever celebrated Halloween. So, dressing up as Dracula or some other imaginary character on some day in October and going to a party in public as that character and going as an anime charachter at a convention are different how? Looks the same to me. They don't want the type of acceptance that some seem to think. No one's talking about being able to go to a job interview dressed as a Gundam character, they just want the same kind of acceptance people in the west are afforded when going out dressed up at Halloween. If you see a pic of a Halloween party no one will say they are socially inept freaks, so why do people think that when seeing virtually the same thing at an anime convention?

Shizu-chan is ridiculously sexy. LOVE those legs, and those lips look so soft. That's a real woman's body, nothing like those innumerable talentos that look like 15 year old boys... Wish she'd take me.

They dressed up as guys from a psp game. Personaly, I'm a little tired of the recycled bishonen drivel. It's so bad that girls have to dress up as the guys. Where does that leave us guys who don't look like girly men? Makes it hard to find an outfit that would look good.

He was told to pay by his lawyers that's why. They thought he didn't need the negative press. As for the others, do you know why they tell you not to pay off hostage takers? Because then every Tom, Dick and Harry comes out of the woodwork to make a quick buck. MJ is simply a case-in-point. Those people came to MJ with their hands out first, they gave him a price for silence. If you truly think he did something to your child, would the first thing you'd do be to ask for millions not to take him to court? I know I wouldn't.

Think of House as the medical Sherlock Holmes. The parallels are obvious. I tune in because he says what most doctors are actually thinking. I have several friends who quit medical school because they realised that they couldn't handle the unmitigated stupidity of patients. They wish they could tell these people how stupid they are and to wise up before they ruin someting. I think that's why it's so popular. It strikes a chord with anyone who deals with idiots on a daily basis that because of professional courtesy they have to mollycoddle. Brilliance has it's perks. Look at Einstien. Who do you know that gets any kind of real respect going out with thier hair looking like they stuck thier tounge in an electrical outlet? Yet his name is synonymous with intelligence. House's perk is he gets to be honest.

The way I see it, there's 2 ways to look at the situation in Israel. 1) Israel is the homeland of the Jews and they have simply gone back to their original land, and 2) Israelis are the conquerers of the land that was occupied by the Palestinians. If you believe in scenario 2, then you must also admit that since time immemorial there have been people driven out of thier lands by invaders. Such is the nature of humanity. To suggest that Israel simply give the land back and wander the world in exile is absurd. If this is done, then what about the people the Palestinians drove out? Why stop there, give back all land everywhere to the original owners, if you can find them? According to some here, the Palestinians were conquered, like the Romans. IMO, They need to either move on or create a proper army, declare war and take the land back. What they are doing now is causing more harm to their people than good. They're not even hitting targets that matter, targets that would weaken or cripple the enemy's military capabilities. Night clubs, buses and wedding parties don't contain weapons, airplane hangars, artillery positions, or military barracks. Why doesn't Hamas target such places? Surely they know that by attacking thier enemy's military fortifications they might realize their goal of defeating Israel? Why do they seem so adverse to hitting targets that make sense from a military standpoint?

How come there are so many forensic experts on JT that don't know how forensics work? Her DNA on the murder weapon is only conclusive if it were not her house, or the weapon was foriegn- brought in for the murder. A kitchen knife in her house would definitely have her DNA. Skin cells, oil from one's hands and of course blood have DNA in them. Any of these that match her could be on the knife simply because it belonged to her. Her inconsistencies in story could simply be her wanting the interrogations to stop. We all know how that guy who was released here in Japan because of new evidence said he was abused until he told them what they wanted to hear. Or do we think that police brutality is exclusive to Japan? As for facial expressions or behavior, her friend and roomate was killed and she's being charged in her murder. How would anyone react in a situation like that? I imagine it does strange things to a person. There are just too many question marks to be making any kind of judgement yet.

Presto - Yeah you're right on it. The Founding Fathers stipulated you can only have free speech if you are nice and don't hurt anyone's feelings. There's no law against not having empathy. How would one enforce that anyway if there were? Should she take him to court for that? "Judge, Dave hurt my feelings!" Did you read your post? Dave messed up a joke, so what. I didn't even remember Palin had a second daughter until I read the article. Everyone only talks about the unwed mom, who is a testament to Palin's disasterous belief system. First thing I thought reading the article was, "isn't her daughter 18 and legal? Who's Willow?" Dave probably heard she was in town with her daughter and thought she was there with Bristol. I know that's what I thought. Dave just made an oopsie. It happens, Palin needs to get over it. We all know how well her moral lessons work. We don't need more failure from her in that arena.

Maybe, these kids grew up with a father or mother or both that worked themselves to death(sometimes literally), and they have NOTHING to show for it. Maybe they are determined to not end up in a job where they work 80+ hours every week, are bullied out of thier vacation time, AND not get paid for the overtime "for the good of the company".

The problem lies in what fatfrenchfool calls the "rent-an-idiot". They call celebs like Tsubasa Masuwaka O-baka Idols. They are actually celebrated for being mentally slow. Contrary to what seems like popular belief, real men don't want stupid girlfriends or wives. And last time I checked, no one looks up to idiots. That goes double for those that simply pretend to be stupid.

"[T]he U.S. handed over al-Khazali to the Iraqi government and was not involved in his final release." That tells me almost all I need to know. The U.S. may have known that Iraq was going to release him in exchange for the hostages, but there was nothing they could do legally. True, the crime he is accused of killed U.S. troops, but it happened on Iraqi soil. Law of sovereignty allows them to prosecute crimes that happen on thier soil as violations of thier commonwealth. Obama is hardly responsible when a foreign power exercises it's right to prosecute crimes on thier soil. Especially since he wasn't involved in the placement of said government. It's sad that Iraq gave him away, but international law states that it's thier decision to make, NOT Obama's.

I understand your 12:44 post, and I'll accept your judgement that I'm judgemental. I can't stand people like this woman who promote what I recognize as self-hatred. Everytime a woman picks up a magazine with someone like her on the cover they get the message loud and clear that thier own natural face isn't good enough. How do you feel when you're being told everyday you'll never be pretty enough without makeup?

Moderator: Readers, please stop going around in circles, repeating the same comments. Please move the discussion along.

fatfrenchfool - LOL right on. Am I the only one who thinks she looks like a jack-o-lantern? Maybe I am.

seliny19 - See the problem I have with women wearing "cover up, blush, mascara, and probably fake eyelashes", is that once she's done, she looks nothing like she does without it. That IMO is truly sad. As a woman, don't you think it's sad that so many women feel like they have to become someone else, that their own natural beauty isn't enough? Why would anyone look up to a woman who feels the need to cover her face with so much makeup they're barely recognizable? Kinda funny that the article says "Tsubasa Masuwaka puts her face to cell phone photo album service", when it's not really her face... Why do you equate not wearing makeup with "doesn't take care of themselves ever, too simple etc."? Am I reading that right? You think that if a woman doesn't wear makeup she doesn't take care of herself?

"Life without change, stasis, no fashion, a controlling society that looks down on individualism, and creativity is boring. It's much more interesting and exciting to fight against social norms and the strict rules of society. Which is something people like you will never understand." Really. Unfortunately women wearing makeup is older than Japan itself. There has been no real change in the practice for thousands of years. The men who control this society have decreed that women are to wear makeup when they leave the house, lest they be subject to the "supin yabai" scrutiny. "Conform or be ousted" is the message women like Tsubasa Masuwaka send to the young women in this country. There is NOTHING revolutionary about it, No "fighting social norms" (isn't it a social norm that women wear makeup as you said?) or anything like it, and it's sad. Again, I think that women shouldn't have to hide thier faces with makeup to satisfy someone else's perception of femininity and beauty.

Exactly the reason Japan is going to hell in a handbasket. Let's not forget this was the same guy who called Tsuyoshi a "bastard" and that he would "never forgive him". Hatoyama is just another fine example of the two faced political sempai.

As POTUS, Obama has to maintain a strong air of diplomacy. This of course means mending the frayed relations with foreign powers. The polarizing with us or against us mentality is hurtful to say the least, because it assumes in absolutes that everyone thinks like us. We don't have to go very far to find the flaws in that logic. The only way to truly achieve peace is to reach agreements and understanding. Reaching out in the spirit of dialog so as to learn about one another is the only way to create that understanding. Hopefully, with understanding will come trust, then peace. From this speech, it seems like Obama understands this.
