Yep, way better than all those standard definition PC monitors. I'll bet it's even a flat screen!

mikehuntez, personally I'm very happy that the pastor has the right to burn a Quran. The fact that it's been greeted with debate, discussion, and calls from government officials including the President, rather than the military or police, bodes well for America. Though I think the pastor is crazy and should be stopped, I think fighting free speech with free speech like this is the way to go. No one is fighting his RIGHT to be a crazy jerk.

RomeoRamenll, I'm not sure if you really responded to what I asked. Do you not think that radical Muslims could use images of Americans burning the Quran as propaganda? You don't think it will turn some Afghans against America, less willing to cooperate with American soldiers?

You seem to be saying "no," but because Obama think yes and said so publicly, then "yes?"

RomeoRamenll, isn't Afghanistan a war for the hearts and minds of the Afghan people, who are Muslim? You don't think Quran burning would work as propaganda to turn more of them against America? That doesn't damage the mission at all?

WilliB, they don't get any help from the pastor's Quran burning either, which was basically my point. It's just as offensive to them as it is to the radicals, which is why the pastor's position is so stupid.

The Muslim world needs to take it easy and be more tolerant. Why do they have to be so offended when we hatefully desecrate their religion? And where are the moderates? The pastor made it clear that this is about radicals. The moderates should support the burning of their own holy book, and realize that it's not about them per se. Moderate Christians would have no problem burning their Bible if it was to protest radical Christians. Guess there's just no moderates Muslims!

Sounds like a poll written by a global warming opponent. "Just" a theory is of course code for false. Meanwhile, no scientist who believes in man-made global warming would call it a set of "proven" "facts." The bar for supporting global warming in this poll is unreasonably, unscientifically, high.

Don't worry, there's a heavy self selection bias in the poll. Truthers are much more likely to respond to the poll, given their high level of interest in the subject. Your average person thinks it's a silly question and doesn't click.

neogreenjapan- Right, that's not my question. How does a neo-con like Cheney contradicting the neo-con inspired conpiracy support the theory? Shouldn't someone like Cheney be completely in on it, saying it was bin Laden? He got the wars he wanted, didn't he? And yet, you present him as an ally?

neogreenjapan- So Cheney, by denying that bin Laden was directly involved in the attacks, is refusing to tow the line of the official story. Essentially, Cheney isn't in on it. He's possibly on your side.

And yet, the conspiracy suggests that the government, per the wishes of neo-conservatives, made the attacks in order to justify going to war. Cheney pushed for these wars more than anyone. He's considered to be at least something of a neo-conservative. So according to your theory, Cheney greatly benefited politically from the conspiracy, despite not being in on it and speaking out to contradict the official story. And you present this unlikely contradiction as evidence SUPPORTING the conspiracy?

sabiwabi- So the government can pull of this huge conspiracy, but they either can't or don't bother to fabricate clear evidence pinning it on bin Laden, the entire point of the conspiracy. And this oversight is somehow evidence supporting the theory? This is what I don't understand.

sabiwabi- Okay, I'll rephrase. Why didn't just some members make something up to present as evidence?

sabiwabi- If the FBI was in on the conspiracy, why would they wait for clear documented proof? They'd just make something up.

If it was all a conspiracy to pin it on Al-Qaida and bin Laden, then why would the FBI not say bin Laden is wanted for 9/11? Isn't this evidence AGAINST the conspiracy theory?

It's my understanding that bin Laden's words alone aren't treated as "hard evidence." Also, in the strict sense, it's true that bin Laden himself didn't do it.

Failures of socialism? Haven't socialist policies worked out great for several northern European countries recently ranked among the best countries in the world by Newsweek?

But Obama isn't a socialist anyway, so it's irrelevant. But Bill Costello, the idealogue, is dumb.

Ironic, the West vs Islam cultural deathmatch worldview that so many ascribe to here is exactly how bin Laden sees things, and what motivated him. To bin Laden, all the anti-Muslim rhetoric is vindication that he was right about the fundamental cultural war and the need to fight. But I guess vindicating bin Laden's worldview is more acceptable than protecting US Constitutional rights, huh?

Molenir- depends on what you define as "oppose" the building of the mosque. Two thirds of Americans think it's a bad idea. But, two thirds of Americans also think it's their right to build it. Only a third of Americans think it should be blocked. Thank you Fox News poll.
