frontandcenter - you suprise me. Joe was inspired by Neil, as we all were.
NEIL KINNOCK at Welsh Labour Party conference May 1987:
"Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Was it because our predecessors were thick? Does anybody really think that they didn't get what we had because they didn't have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment? Of course not. It was because there was no platform upon which they could stand"
JOE BIDEN IN Sept 1987 during his first presidential campaign:
"Why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go a university? Why is it that my wife... is the first in her family to ever go to college? Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright? ...Is it because they didn't work hard? My ancestors who worked in the coal mines of northeast Pennsylvania and would come after 12 hours and play football for four hours? It's because they didn't have a platform on which to stand."

sushisake - you are from the UK. Is there anything Neal Kinnock wrote which Joe could memorise for the big debate? It would help. With the aneurism and all he aint the sharp cookie he once was (voted against Gulf War 1 - right on! Voted in favor of Regime Change in Iraq - not exactly Hope and CHange, but Barack needs the Penn vote...)

As grand as Barack is even I have these awful, fleeting misgivings that he is no FDR.

Joe's hairplugs are up to the task. His mouth makes him a bit of a loose cannon, and Neal Kinnock probably never penned anything on mortgages and massive bailouts that Joe could memorize in preparation, but I am confident the networks will convince us again how we need to vote for Barack Obama.

Why didnt Nancy Pelosi include the palin woman on her Mme Defarge List of Villains? We all know she is also guilty here. Good chance lost.

I do hope you are speaking rhetorically. while it is true that Obama adviser Franklin Raines walked away with tens of millions in bonuses from Freddie Mac he was never on the bushie'S side.

Careful, friend. Saying Iran was capable of democracy - in the 50's no less - undermines the argument us progressives must stick to:it will never take hold in Iraq.

If you eat McDonalds when you go to the movies I'd say you are irreversibly addicted to american pop culture. Downloading movies instead of going for the 'blockbuster' experience to be, uh, enjoyed at a Japanese cinema could be hazardous to your mental health.

Excellent point. I reckon that 's why Joe Biden draws like 3,000 when he speaks at rallies, but the palin woman is getting tens of thousands. The repubs are clever at some stuff, you gotta give em that.

Obama mentioned how even Kissinger is in agreement with Him. Yet, immediately after the debate the old repub henchman couldn't resist attacking Barack:
"Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality."
Typical.
