  Last january I visited Japan first time in my life, to meet and travel back home with my daughter who had spent an exchange year in a japanese high school.We met a japanese lady (who collected money for a charity) in the street and my daughter who spoke good japanese told me, that she said that I must be a nice lady.I asked why? The lady said that I smiled to my daughter and I looked so proud of her, compared to the asian tiger moms.Those words exactly. Whose dreams and expectations we parents try to achive, ours or our kids? We parents of course have to do our job to support our chidren and give advice.But to develope to a mature and healthy individual child needs also care and love, in addition of this hard and goal-oriented world. Dont cut their wings before they even could fly.

  So lets get this straight: drinking equals social nice person? (didnt look like that in the night train in Tokyo...)Why booze?Why not bowling?Why not weekend gathering with other employers families and the firm? Which of these do you think makes a person to perform best?

  Visited Japan in january. I was having my lunch in a restaurant and a gentleman lighted a cigarrette at a table nearby. What kind of right he has to ruin my lunch? I live in Finland and here smoking is banned in bars and restaurants.Even in the winter you can see smokers having to go for a smoke outside, in - 25 and that is generally accepted. Smoking is a deadly habit you can of course choose but passive smoking is as hazardous as smoking. Have to say that Japan is coming far behind other western countries.

  Just yesterday returned back from my first trip to Japan and this might be more like a cultural thing.Knowing the Kawaii culture where some women seem to dressup look like teenagers, makes me a little a bit sceptical. Young and unexperienced is the thing;wasnt it so that one of the singers was dumped after was seen in the late hours getting out from her boyfriends appartment?. What else is it than playing with mens fantasies. Not adult entertainmet.But i my self wouldnt like the idea of my daughter adopting this kind of dressing up. Nore I find it making a young womans opportunities better in the workinglife.

  Came from Finland for two weeks holiday in Tokyo;yesterday springtime,lovely!Today, like from a place I came two days ago...Saw many people fall and was afraid especially for the old people.But ueno was beautiful.
