We just have to wait and see whether his son would attempt to implement some reforms or he would follow the footsteps of his father. Meanwhile, there is always the danger that the military would think that he is weak and attempt to overthrow him. I worry about this scenario because of the instability that it will cause.

Until any of the above scenarios occur, i doubt that there will be major changes in Japan's relationship with the regime.

Indeed, this case seems different than the last one... Let's hope that China won't act once again like the big bully and admit the mistakes of it's citizens.

Messi was totally lost in translation. I bet he was not used to the Japanese comedy shows and preferred to run away. For everyone who didn't watch it, you can see what happened here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gf-mk6KnqWk

Btw, Barcelona is probably the best football/ soccer team on the planet ever. I doubt that even Brazil of '58 or '70 could beat it. Of course, the style of the game has changed a lot the last 10 years. It is much faster that it was used to be and tactics and formation is much more important.

Instead of giving advices to one of the most advanced nations in the world, Al-Qaida should focus on something more beneficial for its country like giving up their weapons and helping in the reconstruction of it.

    Yeah, keep dreaming...

Personally, i like Joe Odagiri. I enjoyed his acting in movies such as Adrift in Tokyo, Tokyo Tower: Mom and Me, and Sometimes Dad, and in Dramas such as Shinya Shokudou. I can understand that as an actor/celebrity, he might get upset or annoyed by a fan while he is in his privacy, but i think that the appropriate way is to kindly refuse signing the autograph and not doing this prank. Yes, it might be funny and amusing for us, but i don't think it was for the person who probably idolized him as a celebrity.

Besides, marketing is extremely important in the show business. Of course, Joe is portraying himself as an eccentric type of celebrity and therefore i doubt that his image would get any damage by this prank.

In 1965, Japan asked Korea to show the concrete number of conscripted workers and soldiers, dead and injured and how much unpaid wages were. They asked to "show the evidences and they would pay". Korea agreed and investigated them. What I want to clarify here is that KOREA DIDN'T CLAIM the compensation for the war time prostitutes. Why didn't they? It's because there was no abducted prostitute. Nobody said at the time in Korea, those prostitutes were abducted. Everyone knew there were many women who were so poor that they sold themselves to live and the Japan army didn't have to abduct Chosun women. There were many Chosun volunteers for Japan army at the time. Therefore Koreans didn't claim it at that time.

    Well said.

The only comedians will be Japan's ultra-nationalists and others who want to challenge China.

There is no much difference in the comedy level between Japan's ultra-nationalists and China's ultra-nationalists. They would have both been great entertainers if there were not some people taking them seriously.

However, i am sorry, but i consider Japan a far more democratic nation than China. The fact that it has territorial disputes with its neighbor states does not mean that it lacks in democracy in comparison to them.

Ridiculous request. USA should have just apologized and request from the Iranian government to act more rationally in order to lift the sanctions. How can you expect from an authoritarian state to send you back a surveillance drone that you sent to spy on them? Unless it's part of a long term plan in order to provoke Iran even more. I don't want to believe that though...

Eh? What's going on here? It is less than a week since the culprit was caught, right? Is it possible to have a copy cat few days after the offender was arrested?

He was quoted as telling police that he wanted to kill some passersby, Fuji reported.

Well...that's scary.... Thank God he was arrested even though the fact that he is a minor might be troublesome for the people who demand an appropriate punishment for him.

At least he should be locked up in a mental hospital.
