Sadly, if he failed in the attempt he probably would have been charged with manslaughter.

That's an odd thing to say. Can you point us to any precedent for that claim? I very much doubt that he would be charged with anything at all if that had happened.

Why would someone want to be famous for being so drunk she fell onto the tracks? This kind of thing has happened before- unfortunately sometimes the heroes who go to the person's aid do not always survive.

I hope he gets more than just sent a letter of appreciation for this. Last year I used a fire extinguisher to put out a fire in my neighbour's sofa, and I got a letter of appreciation personally delivered by the station chief, plus a photo, and souvenir goods! The…

Tahoochi, sorry, lame argument. Anyone who who has even a passing familiarity with the haka knows that it isn't just a "cool rugby game dance". Plus the advertising agency knew very well that it has cultural importance to Maori, they just decided it would be easier to ignore it, so…

I was very pleased to read this news this morning, because I was on a Chuo line train right next to the one that almost hit this woman last night. Just as our train left Koenji station headed for Takao, I heard the Tokyo bound-one next to us blast its…

So, if you work at 7-11 for 40 hours a week, you can make about 240,000 a month. I see signs all the time looking to hire people for that.

goddog, where on earth do you get that figure from? 7-11 pays around 850 yen an hour, which for a…

gurukun, you may define "fat" as "not fit", but as I'm sure you know there are loads of skinny, unfit people here, and to say they are "fat" makes no sense and clouds the issue. I know a slightly overweight Japanese woman who just ran a 20km race in under…

Because, gurukun, there has to be something between "fitness" and "obese". I am 175cm tall, and weigh 58 kilos, so am at the very low end of the "normal" BMI. I have 23% body fat, so by your standards, I would only have to go up 2% to be classed…

What!? A body fate percentage of over 25 does not make a woman obese- check your figures. For men a body fat % of 25 puts them in the obese range, but for women that starts at 32%. 25 percent is only just above the "fitness" range for women (21-24%).…

Why did they make his suit pants so short? Horrible turn-up job on the cuffs too. Looks like he is standing on tiptoes to try to be a bit taller than Leah Dizon, who this is also a really unflattering photo of.
