Some tattoos are beautiful, some are hideous. Some people have big noses, some are just right. It's hard to stop discrimination once you let it grow roots.

I fully support the practice. It's better than risking our soldiers. That said, I should probably shave to limit the risk of mistaken identity.

I believe nuclear power can be managed safely, but I disagree with having it managed by corporations. Tepco should have started pumping sea water immediately, but they didn't want to ruin the valuable equipment. Since this isn't my country, I'm fine with whatever decisions the populace makes. If I get too inconvenienced or don't feel safe I have the option of leaving, like most of the other posters I presume.

The 30 yr old women dress up in school girl outfits, so making the case that the drawings were children is tough. That said, I've seen manga on the trains that makes me blush.

The only respectable way to get a fresh head on your beer is to finish and refill. Peacewarrior, your comment is true for about half the population. The other half would likely disagree strongly.

OMGhontini-my apologies, I was referring to traveller's comment that you agreed with, although all evidence has been removed by the jt-police.

Disillusioned: biking or walking? Is this the main source of your disillusionment? No disrespect intended, and I hope you don't have any permanent damage. My hand still hurts from a car mirror 20 years ago in DC (not in a crosswalk... so mea culpa).

Serendipitous, I completely agree. It would be much more profitable than waiting at the lights for someone to cross the yellow lines and might save a few people's lives. There are plenty of crosswalks in Japan where I can't see adults coming because of the bushes/buildings/fences/trucks.

OMGhontini, to quote Cat Stevens, where do the children play? Blaming the parents is despicable in my book. Suggesting they put the child in harm's way for monetary gain comes from a different type of mind. Maybe they can use this case in a psychological test to weed out unfit drivers.

The heat was on in my office again today. 28 doesn't save electricity when it's 19 outside. 23 is a bit warm for me, but I am willing to compromise if we can keep it there year round. 26 was the office low in the winter, and the elevators smelled like an Indian diner.

Online activities should be treated with no expectation of privacy, the OS doesn't matter much. If you need to shop online or use iTunes, use a prepaid credit card or set up a small bank account without overdraft. Lastly, no foreign prince is going to make you rich to help him get his money out of his country, so ignore the email.
