There are some difference between Japan and China economic development. Both Japan and China prospered because of manufacturing prowess and efficiency. However Japan major export market was USA. When USA got flu, Japan got a cold too.
Back in 1970s and 80s, Japanese goods are ultra cheap like China goods. Because of US demand, Japan revalue the yen many times and open the market more for foreign imports. The another mistake was over investment on over heated property bubble. Since 1990, Japan has lost the momentum of good old days. It was a failure of free and open market economy.
On the contrary, China has huge population and reliable supply chains for manufacturing goods. Their domestic market is expanding and explosive. They do not depend so much on external market for economy. The government controlled individual saving for investment such as US treasury and natural resources. Gold, Copper and Iron ore prices are sky rocketed by Chinese demand. They transfered the raw materials into consumer goods. China is not a free and open economy. Government strictly controls the financial sector, media and strategic resources. Since 1978, they have sustained their average economic growth between 8% to 10%.
In the reality, controlled semi socialist economy was more adaptable and workable for the real world. Chinese banks and citizens have high saving. Due to one child policy, most people have extra budget for investment and business.
However China has huge gap between rich and poor, Coastal regions and inland areas. Local and provincial government corruptions are making the mess of economy. Being No 2 is not sustainable without solving these major problems.

Now a days, Chinese are more confident about their economic prowess. Not because of their military strength. Their kids especially from Shanghai are top of the world according the international tests Such as GCE O. Their athletes are performing well too. Due to their huge population, promising talents are rising like tidal waves. Even in silicon valley and MIT, Chinese scientists and engineers are mushrooming.
In term of military and technology, China is inferior than both US and Japan. However military and technology prowess alone can not conquer everything. Such as Afghan and Irag wars. In the reality, US has drained too much resource for that two prolong wars. It is not the national interest for having war with the China. Besides that US owed the Chinese government for more than a trillion of dollars debt.
Without the Chinese government fund, US can not afford to build the nuclear powered air craft carrier, supersonic fighter jets and trident missile. It cost fortune to manufacture them. If there is no more funding, US can not afford pay the wages to marines too. Japan also depends on China market for jobs creation and economic growth. China is a rice bowl for Japan in the economic term.
If China sells US treasury bonds in the market, dollar will become a worthless paper and inflation will be sky rocketed. It is time for friendship and co-operation not for hatred and confrontation.

During the Asian financial Cris, korea Won has lost the value like falling leaves. For repaying the foreign debt, Government desperately needed for US dollar ( which was a strong and stable reserve currency) and gold.
Many Koreans living abroad sent their US dollars to the Korea voluntarily. Koreans who live in Korea donated their gold bar, coins and antique as patriotic duties. After a few years Korea repaid the emergency loan to IMF.
Later on they restructured their financial institutions with prudent monetary policy and regulation. They still have debt. However it is under control.It was a remarkable performance.
For Japan sovereign debt, Japanese do not need to sacrifice like Koreans. Government owed the debt to citizens. Not to foreigners! Reducing the debt level is top priority for economy too. Strategy is badly needed for current government.

The fastest way to eliminate the trade imbalance is a structure change, raising import duties and spending cut. US was very easy to get the credit or loan for consumption.China is not US consumers and Government used to spend the borrowed money like no more tomorrows. Loan or credit is an another meaning of debt.
As per capita income, China is many times poorer than states. However most of the population has higher saving for their retirement and Medical expenses. US treasury bonds are financed by these poor people saving who has no safety net. If US dollar keep losing the value, they may diversify for the safety of their life time saving. The simpler word is US dollar may be no longer sustained as reserve currency.

Trade imbalance are caused by top US companies who wanted to export back to US consumers. For example, ipad and iphone. If they are assembled in US, US does not need to order from China. Eight percent of china imported goods are designed by US manufacturers.
Even chinese yuan is stronger, manufacturers will not come back to states. The reason is lack of efficiency, supply chain and stable market.Most of them will move their business to Vietnam, Burma, Africa and Laos. Business is about making the profits. Not about debating in the court room.

Being an ally is double edge sword. If the one nation of ally is being attacked, it will or will not get the military contribution from superpower. However there is some price to pay for it. It is footing bill and contributing the security force for policing around the world.
Former is interesting and preferable. Later is just a huge burden. Current economic climate is also not encouraging. The reality is superpower also has limitation. Fighting two wars with invisible enemy has already drained resources and motivation of Ally.
According the recent wars research, ally force are mostly killed by friendly fire from their ally. Not by enemy. It is unacceptable and inexcusable.

After Bush senior term, US economy was terrible and messy. Unemployment population was booming too. The young, energentic and wise Mr Clition fixed the Bush senior mess. During his term US enjoyed the golden age of peace and prosperity. His only crime was having affair with the woman young enough to be his daughter. However no one died and US had low debt and low level of inflation.
When Bush junior inhertited the good economy and balanced budget, he spent and borrow the money like no more tommorrows. The legacy of Bush senior and junior was making US broke and rasing the highest level of debt. When Obama inherited his mess, he had not sufficient resources to fix it. He got a herculian task however he is so small.
Irag war alone causing a billon of dollar for a week and countless soliders death. After the global financial cris, the inverstors had lost the confience about US monetary policy and admin.
Sadly it will take many years to make the economy better and getting the well balanced budget.

If you go and visit to Sudan, there are hopeless Sudanese desperate about getting the jobs, decent health care and decent infrastructure. Of course Sudanese will be grateful and welcome to any foreign investments and technology. Not only from China, every nation who wish to do business in Sudan. They do not have capitals and expetise. The nation was ruined by long civil war. Being employed and learning some skills is better than drifting and penniless. If they think, they were treated like crap, they did not need to accept the job offer. Mining industry require more knowledge and skills than manufacturing.
Back in 1970s, China was a poor and backward nation like Sudan. Their GDP was just a fraciton of right now. If poor African nations want to develop as modern and stable nation, they have to follow these open door policy for economic development. Another example was Japan Meiji restoration. Japan was isolated about two hundred years before. After opening trade with America and Meiji restoration, Japan become a modern and advannced nation.
I have never mentioned about Tibet in my old posts. Politics is not my concern or interest. It is your business about Tibet liberation. My comment is about the trade, investment and business promotion.
China and Japan had hatred and mistrust to foreign nations in their past. They were poor,isolated and backwarded in the history. After opening the door, both got modenize and advanced. In the business, we have to buy or sell with someone whether we like it or not. If you do not trade with someone whom you dislike and hateful, your business will not survive. Let 's move on with the bucks not with the hatred.

I wonder have you been to Africa before. Have u ever worked in mining industry? Mining industry is not a labor intensive industry like manufacturing. It is a capital and knowledge intensive industry. Staff are skilled and well educated. Not like crap as you mentioned who works for manufacturing with low pay. Besides that most Sudanese were unemployed and starved before. They suffered from long civil war. In my view, they killed the Goose who lay the golden egg a day.
In the reality, China investment provide the jobs and infrastructure to Africa. Africa needs capital and technical skills like a thirsty man needs water. Of course, there are some cultural crashes and business competition too. Whether we like it or not, that poor cousin is richer and expanding the influence. Even HK locals are jealous and dissatisfied about Chinese business men for buying their high end properties.
Japan needs huge export market like China. Trade and investment flow are good for both. There are some sentiments, jealousy and mistrust from some locals. However the new generation will be different from us. There will be more intermarriage like USA. Time will heal the old wound from past. Let's move on to the future.

However there are many local sentiments about China economic expansion. Some Chinese mining engineers were killed by local people in Africa. Some said it is because of race.

Japan is becoming the immigrant nations. Many lower paid works are dominated by the people from these particular nations. Japan has got many influence about the foreign culture and custom including middle east now. I do not think married men is responsible for not having sex after their work. The reason is lack of willingness from their spouse and lack of privacy. Animal can have sex straight away. Human need some stimulation, privacy and pleasant atmosphere.
Have I commented the Japanese men divorced their wife for not being a virgin? I have re read all my posts and I did not find it. Japan have the longest life expectancy. Many of them live more than 100 yrs. Some men may think they will live long. For them 30 is not too old. Japan had lost decades of prolong recession and mentality and life style has changed. It is true that Japan need to reinvent itself not only sex life but also almost everything. Japan has lost the energy, stigma and competitiveness. So far no politicians have found the solution yet.

I have never said that we are insects and flowers.Just describing the action as polite and infomal way. Sexual activity can be described as dominant role and supporting role. Traditionally female are participated as supporting role. Now a days they can become dominant role. If both sex want to have dominant role at the same time, there will be conflict. Sound like this comment come from another planet. Underemployed have less time and energy because they have not enough food to eat. They are worried about paying their bills. They are more likely less socialized and less intimate friends. They are under the eyes of big brother mentality of their landlord. They are less attractive to opposite sex. Homeless is not related to survey. It is true. However they are also Japanese men and human being too. We can say that they are forgotten category of men. I wish there is an equal sexual and relationship opportunity for every Japanese man including the homeless and disabled men.
In western nations, they have developed sex Guru TV talk show, sex and relationship counseling and sex and relationship seminars. Japan may have some of them however market is not fully developed. It is time for opening the college of sex and relationship from someone who has expertise and solid knowledge.

I am glad that you used the word "safe sex" finally. However you never know whether they are really having safe sex or not. Some may lack the knowledge and skills. Many adults got infection of hype B and C after having many partners. The reason is they may use oral sex or french kisses. They are deadly as STD too. As long as someone did not transmit the STD and Herp B, C... he or she is innocent. However someone can not check his or her blood daily or weekly. He or she never known they got infected or not. In Some cases he or she transmitted to the someone. If he or she did it intentionally, it was same crime as man slaughter. If they did it accidentally, they are morally irresponsible.
One reason is their living condition as I posted before. Some married couple or defecto live in tiny apartment with little privacies. If they want to have sex, they can visit to love hotels which have more privacy. It is not free. Most of them wish to live in Mansion with the big garden.
Another category of men are homeless, hopeless and unemployed. For them, some of them have 80 yrs old virgin not only 30 yrs old virgin. Encouraging to have them sex like French Queen comment during the french revolution. The comment was " If they have no breads to eat, why not they try the cakes."

For some culture and belief, it will be an offense. Not all partners are tolerate about their partner has another partner even they are singles. It is up to the individual tolerance. The downside is jealousy will promote the crime.
Most Eastern Men are happy about having many sexual partners before they settle down. However they do not wish their spouse had many partners before them. If they are happy they may come from another planet.
I did not mention that sex should be avoided at all. However we have to be open and honest about risk and benefit too. Some comments are out of touch with the reality. They are not reasonable.

What Zenpun was saying is philosophical. Some Japanese men does not want to get STD with fast and easy women. They will sex with someone, what they are comfortable and affectionate. You statement is arguable. It is true that more sex is required for Japanese. More babies does not mean Japan is becoming a well-balanced society. It will promote more unbalanced society between have and have not. Japan population is over 130 millions. It has almost no natural resources. Japan is struggling to provide housing, employment and education to current population. If the population reach 1 billion, I think human will eat human because there is not enough seafood for them. There is another concern is environmental effect. More pollution, sewage and sanitation. Sex is enjoyable. However raising kids are not!
Neighboring China is a champion in baby making. Although it is wealthier than before, the gap between well off and worse off are widening. The government is preventing the ticking of social time bomb with huge spending. It is a herculean task ahead. More people means more resources, employment and more spaces should be ready before they come out. If not it is just a imaginable fairy tale society!

I do not wish to offend the Islamic law and law enforcement officers. However not all Muslims are following their rigid rules. According their religious law, they can not have alcohol. I used to visit Hat-yai, Johor Bahru and Singapore for business. Hatyai is a southern Thailand town which is very close to Malay border. It has a few hours driving distance from Penang. It is catering the bargain shopping and prostitution for Malaysians. Many young and old malay men are enjoying the freedom they can not have at their home. Hat-yai can be called as northern paradise for malay sex tourists.
Legally prostitution is not allowed in Singapore. However they have Geyland street red light district. It is particular catering the Malaysians and Indonesians. Singapore is a southern paradise for Malay sex tourists. Whatever restrictions and punishments of law at home can not deter these tourists for having fun there. In my view, they are free as birds in Singapore and Hat-Yai. No wonder many Malays and Indonesians wish to migrate to abroad.
