    China will get 50 billions interest for investing 800 billions in US bonds. The main reason of China buying is boosting the US consumer spending through lower inflation and making US dollar stable. US dollar was the safest investment before. A few weeks before, India is converting gold instead of green backs from their reserves. The reason is they do not want their asset value going down. If all nations holding the treasury bonds follow this way, it will become the disaster.

    I am a frequent business visitor of china. I have never seen Chinese media or government is announcing they are super power or rising power or promising power. In my knowledge, China is hungry for prosperity, harmony and international standing. They have made some progress for their prosperity. However it is still a long way to balance the wealth distribution for such a huge population.

    Social harmony is hardest thing to achieve because of the inequality and ethnic divisions. However China has survived for 5000 years like that. Mongolia and Manchuria conquered the china militarily in the history. However these people are absorbed by Chinese culture, art, literacy and they are more Chinese than real Chinese now. It will take many generation for all ethnic minorities live together in harmony and peace.

    In term of international standing, china is making some grounds. However money alone can not buy love. Buying natural resources and US treasury bonds alone can not make China being loved. They have to be moderate in controlling the individual expression and freedom of press. They have to contribute more for international relief effort for natural disasters and peace.

    Most Chinese I have seen just wanted to become rich. They do not want their nation to take responsibilities as super power. They also do not want foreigners to boss and lecture to them especially in financial management. They are richer, sophisticated and more confident now.

    Medias are exaggerating about China. China has the fastest and strongest economy on the earth. It has the largest foreign reserve amount. However not everyone in China is enjoying the fruits of economic boom. Especially western areas are impoverished. Even in the eastern costal area, gap between have and have nots are huge. Mining industry is very unsafe. Officials are corrupted.

    Obama worries more about US budget deficits and unemployment. As far as China is not invading any nation and selling the US treasury bonds, he does not concern much about others. The course of his concern is not depending on media.

    It is true that Japan has been losing the competitive edges with China and Singapore. Japan is very expensive to run the business. It has lost the postwar efficiency. One mistake was Japan did not wish to share the know-how with others. Japan likes a copy right software. China likes a open source software who wish to share and develope with others.

    Aother advantage of china is huge diaspora of oversea chinese network plus HongKong & Taiwan. It is unfair for comparing Japan with China.

    As a market China is growing and it is potential for explosive growth. China strength is building the supply chains of all necessary components near the plant. Japan strength is hightech and innovation. Japan can not manfacure the goods cheaply like developing nations.

    However when I compare Japan with china and singapore for purchaising power, their market size is still smaller than Japan. Singapore population is just four millions. As a market it is not promising. For china, inner west areas still along way to catch up the east coast prosperity. China is good for manufacturing hub. Not for selling goods and service for domestic market. It will face the fierce competition with local operators.

    In Japan, income and purchasing power gap is not huge like China. Posters needed to remember that Japan is a champion of science and technology in Asia.

    If Japan can reinvent itself with Nanotech, biotech and robotic with selling China price, it can change the budget from red into black.

    I hate to admi that Japanese are superior people as German. However I like their manufacturing products. Japanese electrical products are so cute and irresitable. Designs are copied by other Asians. German cars are long lasting and luxurious. Many nations stole the German scientific research. Both nations lost the war and rebuilt their nations from ashes with astoning speed. Both of them has undisputable engineerig talents and scientific innovation. I would like to conclude not all Japanese and German use both side of brains. Some of the high achievers only.

    US government is printing the dollars like news paper factory for supporting the fragile economy. It is restrutcturing the broke and hopeless companines like fredie and GM. At the moment US dollar is an international currency. Investors have little choice to diversify their life saving. They have to hold their treasury bonds whether they like it or not.

    However nothing will last forever. If the US bonds become default like sub prime morgage, China, Japan and Gulf nations will withdraw their money with huge loss. For surviving, US government will print the dollars again. Too many dollars will become worthless papers. A loaf of bread need to buy with millions because of inflation. The new dawn of prudent finanicial regulation and strong international currency will come.

    Obama is elected by American voters. He only needs to concern about US economy and welfare of citizens. If not his election promises were just a sugar coated words. At the moment, US industries and banks are collapsing. Once mighty US banks are kneeling and begging for cash injection. Countless people lost the jobs and homes. Government has huge trade and budget deficits. Foreign debts like a mount everest. What more US can afford to lose?

    Who care about trade wars? It is not about pleasing any of the trading partners. Beside that US has been largest consumer in the world. It was an engine of the world growth. NAFTA was only good for Canada and Mexico with the expense of the low skilled American workers. Now they are enjoying cross border bargain shopping in the states.

    In the reality protectionism works and free market failed. This stimulus package can not be failed. It it is failed, it will be a disaster like end of the world. Obama needs to say like Bush as The course of that nation is not depending on others.

    Romance is good for young and successful people. It is very sweet for them. In the reality, some people will be ended up with single for rest of the life. It is their destiny. Not everyone need to settle with family and kids. Depending on his or her health condition, economic circumstances, social interaction, tolearance of other and taste of the opposite sex. Instead of living with someone without chemistry, loneliness is preferable.

    It is not suprsing that lonely people will want to establish their same interest group. They deserve to find the people in the same boat. It will make them comfortable and more socialable. It is like a senior citizens club or rehabilation centre.

    It will not only good for US, it is good for the whole world. If US economy is weak, the world wide economy is weak too. For US getting stronger, the world need to support US industries and jobs. Stamp out the all trade agreements. They are not good for low skilled Americans.

    US products are Steel, Aeroplane, Computer Softwares, Communication Equipments, Chemical products, Multimedia and Agricultural produces. US Soy beans are very popular in China. US baseball products are very popular in Japan. China and Japan has to buy more.

    Lucky he didn't do it in CHina, he'd get shot in the back of the head.

    Back in 1960s, it was true what you mentioned. China has changed a lot and there are more openess than before. People are openly critizing the government. Some laid off workers burned the car of communist party official in southern province. Suprisingly they were not shot and got a minor charges.

    Burning the photo of top official is not a serious crime in China anymore. In HK and Macau, some political activists sent the empty coffin for president Jiang Zemin and Hu Jingtao visit. They are still free as birds. Things are changing. I think it is good for China.

    I like "Snow falling on Cedar". The story was based on second world war. It was a triangular romance between caucasian US soldier, ethnic Japanese US marine and US citizen ethnic Japanse girl. In that movie, US citizens of ethnic Japanese were sent to the concentration camp. Racism and discrmination were existed at that time. Flash back scenes from court room, young lovers playing ground and small town festival parade are memorable. Ethan Hawke acting was outstanding.

    My Second favourite was a old movie name as My Fair Lady". Story based on the poverty stricken liverpool of england in 19th century. Professor gambled with a friend for transforming uneducated and rude girl into presentable high society girl. Songs and music are excellent. Audrey Herburn displayed her amazing talent of acting. She was a gifted actress.

    US politcal system has some restictions for President. For example, Clinton wanted to change the health care system. His dream did not turn it to reality because congress opposed it. High court, congress and President are three level of government. They can oppose and delay each other. Obama may have better luck than others. He may have good ideas however not all his ideas will be implemented.

    There are countless nations abusing the basics of human rights and freedom. It has been existed for centuries not just right now. Not only in Irag had abuse. Myanmar or Burma, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Russia, our beloved friend Saudi and Israel. Moral high ground can not come from double standard. Irag was singled out for defending the weak and defenless was unconvicing. The true motivation of freeing Irag was for oil and personal hatred. It was a major interest. Afagan war had less resources and priortity than Irag.

    How about Russia bullied and humilated Georgia? Israel bullying the weak and defenceless civilians and UN staff right now. The most interesting point was US has never gone to war for humanitarian mission with stronger nations.

    Uncomfortable truth was we fought for the war for moral highground. In the reality, we went to war with the weak nation which was easy to beat. We did not take risks for high stakes. If Irag was strong as Bush mentioned, we did not or will never wage the war. Bush said I mistakely declared "mission accomplished". He said it was a his biggest regret during his term.

Many of his business associates got the military contracts on his watch. Such as weapons manufacturing, transportaion and logistic, security guards, catering and reconstruction. VP Dick Cheney was a major share holder in the oil field disaster relief company. Burning oil fields of Irag are gifts from God for his company.

    Bush gave priority to Saddam instead of Bin Laden. He is more interested in Saddam because he was his Daddy old enemy. He completed his Daddy unfinished business. Irag war was five times more expensive than Arfagan. Because Irag is oil rich nation and Arfagan is not.

    Bush became millionare because of the oil business from Taxas. His mentor and business advisor Karl Rove mentioned him before, Irag oil reserves are lucrative business oppournity for them. Sadly he betrayed the trust of public, some of his staff and closed allies. He was dishonest since he was young. It is hard to accept that President is dishonest and cunning because he is a role model for kids. Bush changed the image of US for his personal or business interest.

Many elderly lost their life time saving in the credit crunch. Government is bailing out the failed banks. US became socialist nation. US has lost the international standing. Prisoners torture from Guatanamo ruined the good image of US as champion of human rights. I can conclude as he acted in nation worst interest. Bush presidential term can be described as "doom of the journey".

    Back in early stage of his term, Reps control the three levels of government. Most of the Bush demands has been passed by congress. Because he made propaganda about national security. In the reality,spending trillions of dollars can not end the terrorism. If the huge spending met the goals what he promised & visioned for, it will be acceptable. Now he even admitted himself he is dissapointed about all dooms & glooms.

    You name like a George W Bush nick name. It is interesting. You said Bush is not arrogant. Did u remember his state of union address? " The course of nation not depending on others" That's right! When he need the bills for war, he begged other nations for charity. It was so embrassing. He said "Bring em on". When he was young he was a draft dogger & AWOL.

    Like a Daddy Bush, He is economically stupid. He followed Reganomic economic theory. According the Reganomic, "Market has own magic. Let 's the market wild. Government has to shut up. God will rain the prosperity from heaven". It was a fairy tale now. Wall street has lost credibilty & investors confidence. He spent the public moneny like no more tomorrows. Congress has bailed out for his wasteful misadvantures. He also allowed permenanent tax cuts for super rich. Some are his cronies too. Over spending & unrealistic budget policy are part of the problems for credit crunch. US has both budget & trade deficits. Easy way was selling treasury bonds for the finance. It is no longer sustainable.

    Sub Prime morgage was a Democrats experiment. Without Republicans support & implementation it will not become legislation. After all Reps controlled the three levels of government at that time. Legislation became law by the majority of votes.

    He is ideological & conservative now. When he was young he was fined for drink driving. He against the abortion now. When he was young, he helped abortion for someone he hooked up. He is very green for energy efficient cars now. Before he was anti green. He said no child left behind. There are plenty of disadvantaged. He is a flip flop.

    Hurricane Katherina response was very slow & he even made some jokes about the Hurrican at that time. Citizens without cars drowned becacuse of his carelessness. Reconstruction projects were biased & awarded to his cronies again. Incompetent & corrupted projects are still no where to go. There was nothing rosy during his term. Doom & Gloom only. Thanks God for sending him Taxas soon.
