    Building infrastructure can create some jobs for limited time only. It can stimulate the domestic demands however huge spending required. US has already mountain of debts & further plunging into more debt is unwise. It can not solve the long term economic problems. Obama needs to realize that the root cause of the financial & economic problems.

    One is loosely regulated wild fiancial market & institutions. One is excessive spending & borrowing of the government & public. US has both budget deficit & trade defict. Tax needed to be raised or huge spending cut are only options. Someone who got the cancer, he or she needed to be amputated. Otherwise life will be extinct.

    The main priortiy is balancing the account from red to black. Firstly it needs to ban the short selling & credit default swaps from stock market. Slowly deregulation does not work anymore. The fundamental structure of financial system needed to be fixed. All public servants needed to accept the pay cut. Including the president. Defence & other huge expenditure needed to be cut. Government needs to take over the weak companies. Weak will die. Strong will survive.

    Free trade with other countries cause more pain & unemployments. If it is possible, reverese all agreements. Protect the domestic industries for a few years unitl it is getting stronger. Then it will go back to normal business. More social security safet net required as long term for rising army of unemployment.

    It is sad however employing unproductive workforce cause more pain to economy. Economy is based on the demand. If no one come and eat in my restaurant, I have to restructure or close the restaurant business. I have to find the alternative way for attracting the customers. Keep decorating the restaurant is just the waste of money. Because customers no logner afford to come & enjoy here.

    Selecting African American may be better suited to the character. Communiation skills & physical apperance is better too. It is rare for Japanese TV to audition the other ethnics.

    The pay is not very great however someone who is serious about the acting career can not whinge. It is a stepping stone. I do not mind about acting for free if I am allowed. However I am not fit for their selection criteria. Some actors got multi millions for TV series. Once they acted for free.

    Thousands of miles of trip started from one step. Some models posted for free. When they are getting popular, they can demand the pay what they wish to get. Some even become movie actors & actresses. Acting needs experience & development. Some are very talented they become sensation overnight. Mostly are not! They needed to start from scratch.

    Whales are kings of the ocean & eat a lot of smaller fishes. It there is no whaling anymore, there will be less fish in the ocean. If there is less fish, not good for human. Extreme & unlimited whaling is not good & cruel. However limited whaling is a part of conservation for preserving the wildlife. It is also part of the marine biological research.

    Why cannot limited whaling be called as conservation too? Nature need the balancing act for sustainablity.

    Financial turmoil has already wiped out many of trillions dollars from investors. Normally, stocks values will rise & fall. Without the speculation, financial earthquake will not be so strong.

    Some people are doing short sellings for driving the stocks down further. They bought the stock in bargain value & keep selling the same stocks until particular stock value become almost worthless. They are not real investors.

    Major financial institutions & traders urgently need the transparency & accounting standards for stablilty. The old fashioned deregualtion & non governement intervention does not work anymore. If there is no co-ordination among the nations, market will not get the stablity in the near future. Economic impact will be harsher & deeper. Time & financial tide will not wait for men.

    Thanks for your comment Tonyus! In my understaning, China opened the door to the whole world not only US. It was not because of President Nixon visit. At that time,their economy was socialism and state controlled. They have a policy called as "Iron rice bowl" for providing everyone with jobs, medicare and housing. In the reality,it is unsustainable in the long term. They also got a new wave of leaders who were competent and full of wisdoms. They changed their way from socialism into limited dose of capitalisim. It was back in 1978. President Nixon visit was in 1972. His visit was for his strategic interest for USSR. Not for the china economic reform.

    US is the biggest consumer in the world and contributed the economic development of China and south east asia. However it is not the one way traffic. If something manufactured in states, it will be more expensive and not everyone can afford to buy. China is not forcing US to buy their goods. China imported goods makes consumers smiles & saving. India customer service & software skills also made US companies more productive & saving time & cost too. Beside that some countries refinance as treasury bonds for making US inflation low.

    Not only US companies migrated to china for their business. Including Japan & Europe. It is their interest for surviving in the competitive business & maintaining the market shares. US transfer the technology & marketing skills into china & india has been co-operate interest. If the business can invest somewhere cheaper & more productive, they will go there. As I said before china market is huge. For them not only for the production, they wanted to get the slice of market too.

    Sadly it is a movement of globalization. Not only US, all developed countries lost many jobs & can not supply the sufficient jobs to new generation. Capital will go to labour which is promising the return. Beside that their land is cheaper & they were less green about the environment. Protectionisism will be counter productive for US.

    "You misunderstood about my comment about the crisis". I agree that there were warning signs & rumours about the finanicial problems many years ago. Current adminstration ignored the keep excessive spending like no more tomorrows. Reps promoted the free market & lazzie fare policy for capitalism. Just a few weeks ago Bush did the opposite way of what he said before. Bailing out the private companies is a socialist way. Government stepped in the controlling the financial institutions just started from October. He critized other countries before about the government intervention to the market.

    He created the Irag war which is costing a billion dollars for a week. Whenever he urged the congress to pass the huge bill he did not concern about the consequence. His permanent tax cut made the federal budget deficit getting bigger & bigger. US has both budget & trade deficits. Balacing the budget needs two option. One is rising the Tax. One is cutting the spending. He avoided both. He does not care or understand about the budgets. Future adminstration has a tremendous task ahead for recovery.

    One thing that US is fortunate. It has an international currency. Many countries willing to finace for the confidence of security & return. However recent financial crisis waned their confidence. They are analysing the risks of their investments.

    Sub prime mortage created the default loans which may never recover. In the reality banks are reluntant to borrow the high risk category of borrowers. However congress pushed for low income people to get the finance. Non banks lenders took the high risks. Some people bought multiple properties with debts. When the housing market was booming, they expected the boom will last forever. They will resell their investment when the time is right. In the reality, market slumped and their asset value is getting smaller than their loans. Banks loans become as default. Selling assets in this downturn can not make their loans back too

    Wall street kids took the high risk with other people saving for their interest. Elderly lost the retriement saving however these fiancial wizards resign with huge payout. Actually they are incompetent & destroyed other people life time savings. Market likes a wild beast. If it is uncontrolled, it will be very wild. During the 1997, Asia got financial Crisis. They reformed the financial institutions and balanced their account. At the moment they have healthier banks, well regualated transactions & some reserve. Let 's the markets and global economy recover!

    In my point of view, China & Japan invested huge amount of US treasury bonds. The meaning is they are finaning the states. US has mountains of debts & economic depression. It was her own making. The cause of the problems are the high cost of the wars, excessive & unrestrained spending of Bush, low saving of the public & reckless gambling of the wall street kids. Many banks facing the liquidation and have been nationlized. Government is bailing out the banks. It was an unbeliveable development in within a few weeks.

    US needs the export market for revenue & financer for economic recovery. As a market China is more attractive. Their land & population is so huge and market is still not matured yet. Japan land & population is small and market has already matured. However Japan is more advanced in technology & intellectual property rights are protected. For high tech, Japan market is more promising.

    China is not interested in US security alliance. It is independent. Japan also want to be indepedent & gradullay chaning the constitution. Both of them like charming & beautiful flowers.

    Congratulation to both winner & loser. They tried their best & deserved to be praised.

    A new dawn has come for changing the political landscape & racial barriers. I think Civil rights movement leader Martin Luther King will smile on the heaven. A dim light can be seen at the end of the tunnel soon. Although I do not expect Obama can show the extraordinary performance, people are hungry for the change.

    The reason of his win was people wish to say Sayonara to George Bush & his gun ho policy. "Sayonara to the Neo Conservatives". Time & time will change. Humanity & compassion will come back.

    I wish to pay my great tribute to new president's grandma who passed away. Although she is no longer in the world, she will be proud of her grandson. Rest in the peace with the glory! It is a proud moment for you! Sayonara!

    History will judge that whether US was arrogant or not!

    Back in 2003, Bush declared US will go alone to war with Irag whether UN security council approved or not. He confronted everyone who did not agree with him. Secetary of State Rice also declared US has a special place in the world & does not need to concern about the international organisation. Bush also announced TV in "Bring them on" to his enemies. the result was increasing casuality of soliders in the front line. Later on he admitted his speech was very blunt & promoting the more gurilla warfares from enemy.

    After many years of draining the man power & finanicial resources, both of them are friendlier & more diplomatic. However it is too late and Banks have no money to finance their vision anymore. Clintion lied before however no one died. I have no statics for the casuality of Irag & US marines. Recent financial crisis indicated his excessive spending & unrealistic budget policies. Bush owed the public for his apology.

    He made his country broke and wasted many people lives for unnecessary war. If he is not arrogant he need to apologise to American public for his mistakes. He did nothing good for US & the world during his term. Besides that when he was young, he avoided draft for vietnam war. He has a blood in his hands.

    I am sorry to hear that my comments insulted you. Actually I just praised your super wisdom & success. The rich will be rich. The poor will be poor. However the rich needs poor and poor needs rich too. Free market & free capitalism was a fairy tale which was history now. Wall street whiz kids got rich with other people hard earned cash. When the time was good, they prasied themselves for their management. When the time is bad, they just seeked the handouts from corrupted officials. Sub prime morgage crisis created the default loans which many never recover. US banks lost the investors confidence.

    Lenders did not concern about the high risks of reckless lending. The result was a liquidation of banks. Banks do not trust each other anymore and easy credit become history. CEOs got huge pay out regardless of their betrayal of trusts to investors. Regardless of poor return & poor performance. They screwed other people savings for their interest.

    After the Asia fiancial crisis, many asian countries made the prudential regulation for monitoring the public finance. Compare with states, their financial system is heathier & well regulated. Some insurance companies in states got broke and they can no longer pay the compensation for policy holders.

    For that cases, policy holders will seek the help from tax payers too. Nothing in the life is guranteed. Market like a wild beast. Sometimes, it can be very wild. Controlling the beast is necessary. Druing the Asia financial crisis, Malaysia capped their currency with US dollars. They restricted the time limit of investment term. Indonesia & Thai requested IMF loan & followed free market & free capitalism rules. The former recovered shortly. The latter got social unrest, povety & high unemployments. For that case, poors & social unrest were created by bad directions, policies & advices.

    Later on IMF admitted, their policies were very harsh & making market out of control. No system in this world is perfect. Socialism did not work. Free capitalism and free market did not work either! Civic society was not uncommon in Asia history. We care the sick, disabled & frail eldely. No one or no system can change our traditon. It is our way of life. If u live in that society, you have to adapt it. We can not adapt your wisdom.

    I want to agree with you nisegaijin. Some childern were killed by their own parents. Because they were born being poor. It was totally their fault. Their parents are innocent. At least you have dutiful and caring parents who raise you. When you were baby, you were depending on charity at that time. When you are old & frail, you may need the charity again. It is a life cycle.

    As you said, 99% of poor are poor because of fault of their own. Some eldery lost their life time saving in the stock market crunch. It was their fault & we better let them starve. We do not need to look after the sick or disable people. Let them beg on the roads.

    If you get a car accident & amputated, you can not expect the tax payer hand outs. You can go back to where u come from. Do not burden the society. Something in life are beyond our control. If you do not wish to help disadvataged that is fine. However you can not blame someone for their misfortune. Congratulation for your incredible achievement! You are someone special. I wish I am smart like you.

    In my knowlege, Japanese government spent a lot of money for providing foreign aids in the past. It was very good for diplomacy. In the reality, Japan is no longer prosperous enough to do it anymore. It is time to look after own citizens for the relief of poverty. Many elderly lost their life time saving in the stock market crunch. They become helpless. Government also allowed many foreigners to come and work here.

    It was a double edged sword. For highly skilled people such as professors, scientists & Computer Programmers contributed the economy. Low skilled people from oversea drove down the wages & took the jobs away from locals. These people are cheaper to hire & fire. No wonder employers took advantages from it. I am not the anti immigrants. However immigration need to concern about the labour market and economic circumstances. Charities start at home. Besides that Japan has very limited natural resources and land.

    Extreme poverty will create social unrest, chaos and instablity. Confucious said "Every person belong to the harmonious public society. Poor & weak needed to be helped". Even somone with the uni degree can not get the job easily right now. The reason is demand and supply. Japan need to climb the ladder of new technologies. Such as biotech, nano tech & genetic engineering. Japan needs to find the sustainable new market for exports.

    It is correct. Social sites from Internet are very unsocial.I have joined many social network sites. Wasted time from me! Most of my new friends from social network site never reply my greetings or birthday wishes. In the reality they do not treat me as a friend. I removed some of the unfriendly friends from my profile.

    One thing I am happy about is showing off my photos at social sites. Otherwise no one will see my photos. Sharing my trip photos with everyone is very pleasant.

    The downsides of social sites are people do not trust each other. They are making less privacy. Culturally senstive for some people. However they are good for sharing photos, music and market information. The world is getting smaller because of that.

    I have stayed in Sheraton of Hangzhou before. In my experience, a few Chinese can afford to stay in Sheraton. Mostly are Japanese tourists and westerners. If they put the Spitton inside the hotel, guests will be offended.

    Taiwan is benefiting from China outbound tourists. Japan will benfit from selling Wide screen TVs and DVD to the hotels. Tourism promote the employment opportunities.

    Highlight: Japanese softball team won the gold.
    Beijing is less polluted & cleaner(Just for 2 wks. Michale Phelp won the 8 golds in Beijing. US Volley ball team won the gold despite the Coach sadness. One competitor kicked the referee.

    Lowlight: Japanese baseball team did not win.
    US Volleyball coach father in law was murdered. Foreign reporters were harassed by police. Taikwondo, Boxing & Gynmnastic referee's judgement.
    Most of the game has empty seats.

    Sadly next olympic has no baseball & softball competitions.IOC does not want to see Japan baseball team dissapointment again. They ripped off both beautiful games for London 2012. Congratulation to Japanese Women softball team about the gold. Sincere sympathy for Japanese Men baseball team for the last dream.

    Wake up Guys! Be mature now! Today is an extraordinary moment for more than 100 yrs of Olympic history. No one has claimed the 10 medals in one game yet. Michale is electrifying the earth. Beijing sky got thunders because of him.

    I am not a fan of the Michale however I feel his body structure is so lean & fatless. His movement in the water likes a Torpedo. His back has very wide span.I have never seen anyone like that except late Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was born in America too.

    Japanese Kajima & Korean Park are also great swimmers. However they are one time winners. They may have good look & sexy. They are not great & extraordinary like Michale. In the future, I will call him Michale the great! I pay my tribute to the land which manufactured extraordinary people!

    I have watched many movies including Japanese, Korean,India, Chinese & American musical movies before. Most of the songs they sang in the movies were dubbed by professional singers. In the reality, Actor & Actress have good looks. However their voice are not so good. Audience want to see the good looking images from screen.

    Why not movie producer hire the singers for movie instead of actor & actress? The answer is their looks are not attractive to audience. Even in the ancient time, musical concert were presented by good looking entertainers & voice came from hidden place. It has been exsited for thousand yrs. For young kid, it may be a bit dissapointment. For adult, it is a not big problem.
