Branded....did we watch the same game? It was Miller time.. and a couple deflections off Canadian players on Brodeur who never really showed up to play. That's about it. Shots on goal..45-23 see that? Hey, that's the nature of the game...but "worked"..nah.

I believe losing was a good thing for Canada. They always need more games to start working as a team.

With players coming together to form their national teams literally days before the tournament starts and the fact that each team is loaded with NHL talent...."expecting to coast through to the medal round" is utterly ridiculous. That's just media BS. If any of these teams gel and play as a unit....they are the team to beat. Canada only rarely lives up to it's potential in the olympics.

haoushokuhaki....Men's hockey was like that for decades and look at Switzerland who just lost a 2-2 tiebreaker after overtime with team Canada. Women's hockey just needs time and pressure from the IHF to get countries to start funding the womens programs. Other countries will catch up.

The typhoon (#22 a few years back) that bashed our town was very intense. We made the national news. Two hours before it hit us I was surfing with my buddies thinking the media was typically making too much out of it. A couple hours later...my neighbors entire roof lay on my wife's car while my van was written-off with flying debris damage. At least a quarter of the towns houses lost their roofs and we were lucky to only have roof tiles embedded into the side of our house and broken windows. I have a lot more respect for the POSSIBILITY of a typhoon living up to it's potential.

It would be "fight or flight" for me. Even thinking of calling for help wouldn't come until much later.

Toyopet for example...I just bought a Land Cruiser with no shaken. I had some tires from another 4x4 that I knew wouldn't pass shaken but they said it was "no problem" to put them on BEFORE the shaken test. So, like anything else....due diligence.

"Ha ha ha! One day I walked into a BMW showroom to take a closer look ( and look was all I was planning to do ) and the salesman jumped up and ran out of the room!"
Interesting Sarge. I must admit that I do always get that initial moment of apprehension in the sales person as they aren't sure of my Japanese ability. But, after a few minutes it's business as usual. Also, how you are dressed plays a big part. If I'm in "kick the tires" mode it's shorts and tee shirt...lol.

LFRAgain,
Check your zeros..
I'm in the middle of purchasing my 7th vehicle here in Japan. Three of the most recent have been brand new and the dealers always treat me in the same manner as any other customer. As for the rigors of registration.....it's not really that bad. Sure it's a bit of run around but I find the two week wait and anticipation harder to deal with.
