That movie was a big let down. Not to say it wasn't good, but nothing from revolutionary as they were promoting it to be.

Cash cards require pin numbers don't they? If I found a cash card on the street it isn't going to do me any good if I didn't know the code.

Barriers are just a band-aid not a solution.
I wonder why these people just don't go to a bridge somewhere and jump into the river, save the rest of us commuters the grief, and the poor guys who have to clean up the mess too.

This stuff happens everyday the only reason it gets reported was because of this guys job. So why is it news? Of course no one here complains because it was the J-Police.
I'm not defending the guy, he's stupid, drinking too much is stupid in my opinion, why people like to get drunk is beyond me, that's why I don't drink much. However's just an observation I notice.

Just because police don't use guns much doesn't mean they don't need them. Now there can be arguments back and forth about arming police officers, there are both armed and unarmed officers in many countries, even in the UK you have more armed officers now. It wasn't until the officer pulled his gun that that akihabara guy surrendered? Any case even in the USA, despite what you see on the movies and on TV, most police officers never pull out their gun in the line of duty their entire careers.

One thing I like about Japan is I can still enjoy my train hobby without being harassed constantly by train staff, security, or the police. In America, photography is still LEGAL, though other some officials would want you to think otherwise. Pretty much if you have a camera, you're a suspect in America. Reminds me of that guy in New York, Amtrak (America's train company) has a photography contest, so the guy goes to the Amtrak station to take photos for the Amtrak photography contest, what happens? Guy gets arrested by Amtrak police for taking photos of Amtrak trains for the amtrak photography contest!

The Emperor of Japan is a ceremonial position anyway, he has no power, and when the President meets with the Prime Minister of Japan (where the real power is at) he shakes his hand.
Obama was just showing respect to culture of Japan and tradition. Again it's not like it's the end of the world as some in the minority make it to be, nor is it like the US is bending end over on demands by Japan either. I guess the Right just forgets about substance of talks and nitpicks on every small item they can get their hands at.

Its just not Japanese police, though everyone likes to pick on the j-police here, there are bad cops and good cops in every country of the world. At least I haven't been reading about J-police being involved in mafia hits, murder, arson and other major crimes like that!

Delta which merged with Northwest recently has much more routes into and out of Japan that would be much more beneficial to JAL then AA would be. AA has only a small number of US-Japan flights. Delta/Northwest has much much more flights and connections that can bring into domestic connections for JAL.

In real police work you don't go rambo or like the movies, if your life or someone eles's life is not in danger you retreat and call for backup first, before engaging a suspect. You're no good dead with no one knowing what your situation is.

The actual bow was less then a second if you watch the video.
I REALLY DONT SEE THE BIG DEAL.
Bowing is tradition in Japan as handshakes are not. If the Emperor of Japan were visiting America then maybe I won't expect a bow, but it is traditional way of greeting in Japan.
If the President was visiting Mars and the Martians way of greeting was a high five, then I would expect the president to follow the customs and courteous of the host country.
Christ some back in the US especially the right make it sound like it's the end of the freaking world.
How about actual content that came out of the meetings? It's not like Japan is America's enemy. Get over it.

There are never enough cops in the world in any city to solve an capture every single criminal out there. Statistically speaking, there's about 1 police officer per 300 people. LAPD for example has always been unerstaffed, even though they have over 10,000 police officers in the city, thats still 1 officer per 400 persons. Do you know how many false tips are called into the emergency lines every day? Heck we often see on the news old ladies calling the police hundreds of times for no reason.
