My partner does all the delivering; he used to be a garbage truck driver and he knows all the roads.

Absolutely brilliant. Great info for the ex-pat community. Thanks JT.

At 82, he may well bring down the average age of a couple of political parties in Japan. They'll be calling him Doctor-kun

The driver was obviously taking in the sights of the city and was determined not to be interrupted.

And there was me thinking that old-fashioned sleep was enough. Wonder if this is metabo-compatible.

I can see it now. A cocky salaryman shows a complete disregard for the people around him on the hot, crowded, stuffy commuter train, and the oyaji, with the smell of sweet coffee and cigs on his breath, self-righteously barks at him as if the noise was tearing away at the very fabric of Japanese society. Meanwhile, everyone else on the train is thinking 'Shut up, you w*nkers, and let me get on with my book before yet another long day in a hot office'. The 'teetering' result doesn't tell me if the punch was a good'n or not, but I vote that the police stick them both in a room and set a hose on them.

Is this a sofa for Lilliputians, or did the photographer slip when s/he was aiming for the much larger, less aesthetically offensive (and probably cheaper) sofa on the right? As massage chairs go, the one time I managed to sit in one (the wife of the bloke sleeping in it in Yamada Denki wanted him to look at bidets), I felt like a heavy rollerblader was tap dancing up my spine.
Isn't 2mill a wee bit dear for a chair that thinks it's a Paul Smith tie?

@docswife - thanks for the link. JAF have done a good job with that.

The last line of the article says it all. I'd like to see the police acting against parents who let their kids bounce around in cars - often in the front of the car. Mum and dad probably wouldn't enjoy seeing their little one shoot through the windscreen in the event of even a minor crash.

Poor Aki is completely outclassed by Louise Bourgoin, but, hey, Luc Besson's probably not that concerned.

The model of efficiency. Lightbulb changers in my company hunt in packs, but 6 civil servants is ridiculous. I can only imagine the number of hankos involved in opening that little box. Mayumi-chan's poised to fetch the o-cha when given the nod.

Beside the fact that it's the average woman's daily calorie intake in one gigantic tower of processed hooves and bollocks, how would one go about eating it? Is there a cocktail stick holding it together? Gonna need a large cakehole to deliver that baby to the arteries.

Recent decapitation and dismemberment stories on JT would provide great material for a full season of CSI. Perhaps the Las Vegas lot should do a Japan special... .

Fantastic shot, and @bobbafett, I think it'd be cool to take the Space Shuttle down to the local car wash for a polish.

It's nice that we've had a proper winter this year. Last year was a real disappointment!

Ouch, ouch, ouch!! Uniqlo's advertising campaigns have very deservedly got the punters into their shops over the last few years.
