Did I miss something here? Have people made plans to die on specific dates all the way upto 2015?

I suppose it means they've already got enough bodies frozen (or in solution, or whatever they use) in storage to last them for the next four years.

For nearly a quarter of a century, the US Pearl Harbor survivors sponsored a baseball game with the Japanese pilots who dropped the bombs.

Really?? It takes 9 players to make a baseball team. Did that many Japanese naval aviators flying in Dec. 1941 survive the war?

The man who objected must have really got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. That said, what the h**l is so important it needs to be discussed on a moving train at 0640?

She hasn’t said if the break is permanent or temporary.

Count on her making a triumphant return when she runs out of money.

I would not want to be seated proximate to Mr. Assange in a restaurant when the drone with his name on it descends from the clouds...

Well, this gets rid of the Hitler wannabees on a shoestring budget. For the determined purists, authentic SS collectibles are of course still available to those willing to pay in the hundreds of thousands, or millions, of yen.

So people who REALLY have a problem with the content never read it, because they KNOW what kind of stuff shows up in this section.

LOL@Fadamor -- but you just couldn't resist taking a peep, could you? I for one find it refreshing to see how readers of weekly magazines take pleasure in commiserating over human beings' many frailties.

Not everything civil servants do is insidious and conspiratorial. I for one would not want my private and/or business correspondence posted on this site. How many people are ready to say they could stand up to the entire cyberworld's scrutiny? Assange is an egotistical, self-righteous twit who I predict will come to an ignominious end in the not too distant future.

Even if it sells, electric cars have no long-term future. I'd give them a decade at the most before self-generating technologies make the scene and make the Leaf obsolete.

Cleverly worded sign, in case anybody's interested. 無脳 (muno, brainless) is a pun on 無能 (muno incompetent).

The bankers and stockbrokers are saying "let them eat cake" to the US the middle class. It would give me a world of satisfaction to see these fat cats suffer the same fate as Marie Antoinette. Let the armed struggle begin! Aux barricades citoyens!

There was something in the vernacular yesterday about the percentage of jobs for school-leavers next spring is at the 40% level, at least 10 percentage points below the official figures.

You would be surprised how many married couples use love hotels to get away from the family and spend some quality time together.

Yes, I would be surprised. Especially since the money for the room would have to come out of the wife's household budget. This "couples use it for privacy" fable is almost certainly an urban legend.

Shouldn't that be, "and I never will"?

Find me a religion that would politely refuse a monetary handout and I might consider investigating its belief system. (But seriously, don't waste your time.)

@Foxie, the term 'war games' was not created by the media, it was created by the military.

Maybe he'll get arrested during one of his book signing events...

But seriously, if there's no evidence with which to charge him --- in the form of stolen goods in his possession --- and since he almost certainly does not mention the specifics of his crimes in the book, what will the police be able to act upon?

There appears to be something inherent in the Korean national character that when they squabble amongst themselves, they try to drag as many other countries into their disputes as possible. It's enough to make one long for the days when they were a 'hermit kingdom' in the truest sense of the word.
