Got to hate those people on trains - they work their way to the door as the train approaches the station so they can be off first. And if they aren't close to the door, they push their through. Then when the train stops and doors open, then walk off ever so slowly.

I don't think capitalism has failed, humans made it fail with lack of common sense, greed, lack morals etc, the same as what happened to communism.

I wonder how the clean athletes feel about receiving their medals months after the Olympics has finished and under such circumstances?

Japanese seem to have a penchant for running away from accidents they cause. I think it was Goro from Smap did it, a couple of baseball players have done it as well as numerous citizens.

I think we should wait for the plot. I don't think it'll be at all like what rjf imagines. From what is written in the article, it has fantasy elements and is only based upon the real events. I don't think it'll matter much if it has some err... "white" guys in it.

borscht, you're a genius, this year's, "Best Fade-ist" goes to Hinano Yoshikawa.

Maybe off-topic, but I heard that after her divorce she became a hostess at some high-class bar in Ginza, don't know if that is true or not.

I think after this major role on the JT website, she'll fade back into obscurity again. Unfortunately, she so obscure now, I couldn't think of a "Bestist" award for her as we really don't have anything to work on.

This is such a broad question, so difficult to answer in a meaningful way. I think everyone in the world says and agrees that war can never be justified, but wars are still fought probably every day of the year in somewhere. Anyone who thinks they have a good chance of gaining something from war will not be deterred. Those people in their own minds will always find justification that allowed them to go to war.

"I apologize for causing trouble. I would like now to do my best to be able to improve my game".

For a country that is supposedly so advanced, it is so emotionally way behind. To be embarrassed because you were caught out in the open with a new boyfriend, it just so lame it itself is so embarrassing. How many times have we seen simlar articles on JT with someone making a silly comment like because they don't know how to handle the situation.

"What on earth does "gu" mean? Sorry. Don`t watch much TV here. I hope this is not just the bastardization of "good"".

I think you'll find it is a combination of two things, one is that it a play on good/gu and it gu itself is just another part of the alphabet (ku/gu).

The Japanese certainly do seem to have a penchant for these people who have only one gag they can do, over and over and over and over again. And the funny thing is that population here seems to enjoy it, no matter how often they hear the same stuff.

Every language borrows from others to greater or lesser extents. However, the Japanese they take it to extremes. I've talked to many people here over the years that were astonished to hear the words that they blurted out weren't English after all. I'm sure someone on JT could write a book about it.

Extremely hard to believe that the Japanese are nature loving, which is another thing that the Japanese love to brag about. Kill stray dogs with CO2, kill some large aquatic species to study how they live, destroy wetlands, and concrete 70% of their coastline. Yep, it's easy to see how the Japanese love nature.

Hopefully things will right themselves in this country one day.

What a bad stunt. I'm sure the government has nothing he could read about the subject. Just another lame effort to get out and try to drum up some public support, "See, you just line up like you guys".
