I think there is a basic misunderstanding here from many who express opinion. Micheline doesn't say bad critiques, ONLY GOOD ones. So any uptight "I don't care if people like my food" actually sounds more like "Don't even dare to like my food, stupid gaijin."

This would not be a good thing for Japan. Giving voting rights to non-citizens - even in a limited, local sphere - would open up a Pandora's Box tyhat would be near-impossible to close....

It is great news! I hope that establishing a high volume export of glass samurai helmets and electronic pressure cookers (designed to be used exclusively with Japanese electric system) will really revive the local economy, and create new jobs for thousands of people.

I wonder if will Japan permit lawyers and translators in those cases. I wonder if Japan will do this bilaterally, and handover Japanese criminals on international request in major crimes like kidnapping, murder or organized crime.. If not, these requests sound rather stupid.
