I dont think he will get any apology. But if he does Im sure it will have the word "regrettable" in there somewhere.

75% of the people in the Asahi shinbun just said it was "problematic", that doesnt mean they agree what he said is wrong. It just means that they wish he hadnt said it out loud. Take the 25% that are ok with what he said and the other 10-20% who are ok with what he said too (but just wish he didnt say it in public) and he has plenty to get elected.

is this really the time to bring this up? sounds kind of jerkish, like anyone can "ensure safety" or anything.

Yeah exactly, what is the point of having "stealth" fighters if you then announce where they flew out of and where they are going?

I would be more than happy to have more women in the workforce and be in upper management, etc.

But....they are going to get there working 6 hour days and feeling "well protected" in the workplace. It doesnt matter if her productivity didnt decrease working 6 hr days, I could also do my work in 6 hours a day but am not given the opportunity because I am a man. If I have to be in the office for work 12 hrs, then so should she, right? Equal rights means to be treated the SAME, so why are we treating people different in the name of "equal" rights?

And 6 years of parental leave? SIX years? what kind of a place is this? Also, I am quite sure that men are "eligible" for it, but cant actually take it. If anyone actually gets it, which I doubt, it would be women.

having patrols in one area just lets everyone know to go somewhere else. It wont have any impact on solving the problem. Plus it is going to create problems the first time the patrol tries to accost someone they have no business accosting. If I am a tourist walking around a bunch of plain clothers military guys with no Japanese police with them start asking me for an ID, its gonna be a problem.

So the people that left just didnt care about their coworkers and "friends" who couldnt leave? just go back home and chill out and watch what happened, then once it is safe try to come back like nothing happened? justify it all you want, its WRONG.

So, if your house is on fire, you should stay there until the flames get you because it's your "home"?

You dont leave your home when it is on fire until everyone else gets out. Using your fire example, these flyjins left their Japanese friends and coworkers in the burning house. They lied, didnt even say it was because the house was on fire, just said "oh need to go out for 2 weeks, be back later" and left out the back door.

Now months and months later people have the nerve to come back to their "home" to see what happened to those who they left behind. No apologies, just checking in to see if they can get their jobs back or not.

Personal safety is not a good reason to move back to your home country?

Sure, that is fine if u were scared. But some of these people are trying to say Japan is their home, not the place they flew away to. I am saying when you move back to your "home country" because you left as a flyjin, stay in your "home" country.

I dont mind if people left, thats ok. Just stay gone, dont try to make up some excuse and come back like nothing ever happened.. Flyjin left their friends and coworkers to fend for themselves in a time of need. Japan did without you then, it can do without you now.

You offend those who are refugees from war, political harassment, famine, extreme climate conditions, and poverty.

And Japan was none of these. People left out of convenience and fear for their own personal safety. I wasnt leaving because I couldnt take my friends and coworkers with me. So together we stayed here and did what we could to try to make it ok again. SO now that it is kinda ok here, all the flyjin want to come back? no thanks.

I have no problem with the flyjin. They had a choice to make and they made it to their own benefit.

But I also think that if you left Japan during the time of crisis you cant call Japan "home" anymore. The two people in the article both lied to leave Japan and left others to do the work they were responsible for, that is what they did "wrong".

Now they come back and seems they think everything is ok? I highly doubt that, their Japanese "friends" and coworkers were just being nice because they know they wont actually have to see them anymore after this.

Yeah seems like Obama might actually get the popular vote too by the end.

more people voted for Romney than Obama. Hopefully that will tell him (Obama) something and he will shape up now. I doubt it but could happen.

China and Russia both want Obama to be president. That is all I need to know to tell me that ROMNEY needs to be the guy. Obama not tough at all on China and he already has told Russia he will hook them up once he gets reelected first and has "flexibility". time for CHANGE.

Yes I did forget 2004, it was an uneventful election for me. So let me add:

"Democratic candidates at the presidential level have traditionally received the overwhelming majority of black votes. In 2004, Kerry won over Bush among blacks by 88% to 11%." (source: gallup.com)

And my data list above had Gore in 2000 it was 90%. I dont know where you getting 95% and 93% for Kerry and Gore.

But whatever, not important. Point is when I tell people I am NOT voting for Obama they look at me like I'm a racist. I think he had his chance with that hope and change stuff and 41% of white males voted for him last time. I doubt he gets that level of white male vote again due to JOB PERFORMANCE (LACK OF), not color of skin. Cause if those people were racist they wouldn't have voted for him the first time.

    Black voter percentages:

    1984 Walter Mondale 90% Ronald Reagan 9% 1988 Michael Dukakis 90% George H.W. Bush 10% 1992 Bill Clinton 83% George H.W. Bush 10% 1996 Bill Clinton 84% Bob Dole 12% 2000 Al Gore 90% George W. Bush 9%

So Obama got 95% and also a 2% higher percentage of blacks who voted to begin with, so its not "just because black people vote for Democrats"

Posted in: Is black voter support for President Obama racist?

Yes it is racist. But it is also considered racist to bring up the fact that black people vote for Obama just because he is black. When black people vote for Obama it is because they are "for" him and thats fine. But when whites vote for the white guy they are racist because it is assumed they are voting "against" the black guy. Funny how that works.

I just want a president who knows what the hell he is doing and can make some jobs and get the exchange rate back to where we can actually buy something in another country. Dont care what color that person who can do that is.

Oh yeah and watch the "Original Kings of Comedy" DVD. Clinton WAS black. Even black people said so :-)

Prada has no interest in making people look good who have surplus pounds and years. They have an image and a brand to maintain and that is what they are doing. That is why some designers/makers dont even have larger sizes available for purchase, they dont want overweight people buying and wearing their stuff, it diminshes their "brand". Even for guys, a lot of companies dont make pants with a waist over 34 inches.

    Couple of comments:

    1. She isnt asking for her job back. Looks like a money grab. She was offered a settlement but it wasnt enough money to soothe her hurt feelings??
    2. I read somewhere that she says she was told to fire 15 other people who worked for her for being old/ugly/fat. Did she fire them? At least in her case she was given the option to lose weight and chose not to, but what about the others?
    3. . Why is there only one picture of her on the internet that shows below her neck? I want to see what the fuss is about as far as her weight.

She should have just gone to the gym. No one gonna give her 3/4 of a million dollars because she was told she needed to lose some weight. Thats not sexual harassment that's just advice.

Oh so my response to the "give us back our land" comment was removed. Ok I will state it even MORE simply so there is nothing to dispute. There was a war, Japan lost, so it became someone else's land not yours. That someone else has been nice enough over the years to return most of it after helping you rebuild it. Someday that someone will return it all then you will be all on your own against anyone who doesnt like you. Better?
