Agree, Sharpie.
I believe he will defend against the typical losers he fights on a normal basis: the 0-and-forevers, the 1-and-a-bunches, the 2-and-many, and the 3-and-double-digits. When he makes his first title defense against a ranked contender, he will lose....

Well-exoplained, cracaphat, and thank you!
I agree to a great extent, barrykawa, and I think, too, that Naito did jolt Kameda a few times, as Kameda's legs looked rubbery in the later rounds, but despite that, the first few rounds, which I later watched on review, Kameda got a lot of good shots in early, then cruised.
Well said, BurakuminDes: I agree that the Kamedas are all pugs and bums, and I believe Koki will dodged legit competition and contenders until the WBC forces him to fight a highly ranked challenger...then it'll be lights out Koki....

cracaphat: it didn't seem all that easy, and neither did Kameda make it look so. He did run away often from Naito, whereas Manny literally beat Cotto into submission, taking punches from Cotto that would have florred lesser men. Manny even looked to get strnger as the rounds continued. Not so with Koki Kameda: he - along with Naito - was heaving, with rubbery legs, there towards the end (and I think if he'd have gotten stuck hard enough, would have gone down; unfortunately, the Champ was just as gassed as Kameda). Big difference, there, my friend...

Interesting how the Yomiyuri Shimbun put it in English, stating that with this win, Koki has "restored" his "Family Name". He and his family are still dirty, underhanded chumps in my opinion, but this is really beside the point.
The Kamedas are a lot like the Japan Volleyball Team, especially the womens': they can beat the snot out of almost anyone inside Japan, but once they get outside and off of the islands, they end up in 8th place (like at the Olympics last Summer, where every team there stomped on them), or worse (as at the World Championships).
It's the same with the Kamedas. They can beat anyone almost inside of Japan, especially the 0-6, 2-10, 3-14 pugs they're in the habit of taking on, or some young talents from overseas who may have a 2-0 or 5-1 record, but are basically unheard of. Now that Koki is champ, he'll have to do away with this kind of fighting; he will have to take on legitimate contenders for the belt, because if he sticks to the unranked 1-and-forevers, 0-and-alots, and/or the 2-and-one-hundred dudes or the fresh-out-of-the-amateur-rank dudes, sooner or later the WBC will step in and offer him a choice: face a true contender or ditch the belt to someone who will.
It wil lbe interesting to see how Kameda steps up and does his thing now that he is champ. Yes, he did run a bit from Naito, but anyone who watched the fight towards the end and closing rounds could easily see that Naito was losing. There was a marked differencve between Koki's and Naito's faces (the former champ's was swollen and bleeding, while Koki looked like he'd been barely touched). Further, while Koki exuded a lot of confidence, Naito didn't seem to have any in the pre-fight interviews.
At any rate, as I said above, it is time for Koki to BE the champ. I believe that he will either take on the no-names, the 1-and-a-bunch fighters he's used to, only taking on a legit contender under threat, or in a hurry to make himself more legitimate in the eyes of the world, rusn in to fast and take on someone who's better and stronger too soon. Either case, I don't expect this belt to stay with him for very long...

I'll give Kameda his due: he fought a good fight, and when I turned on the fight on TV (about the 9th round or so), Naito's face told the tale. I'm not much a fan of Kameda, either, as some have already posted, but he did fight a good fight. I disagree with cracaphat: he didn't look like Pacquiao and Naito didn't look like Cotto: let's not compare a ferrari with a volkswagon (Pacquiao is definitely a Ferrari to Kameda's Volkswagon)...
Now, it's time for him to step aznd BE the champ now that he has won the belt. By that, I mean there'll be no more 0-20, 1-18, 2-22 fighters that all the Kameda's are used to. Koki will now have to take on the world's best, all who will be gunning for his newly won belt. My opinion is htat Kameda will defend his belt against perennial losers for a time, then, when pressured, will fight a highly-ranked challenger.....and lose. He took on one quality fighter with fading skills (Naito) and won by decision. When he steps into the ring against a quality fighter in his prime, Kameda will go down like a sack of wheat.

Nothing good will come from this, andthe Obama Administration's procedures of this will set and are settign a dangrerous precedence. These five terrorists will get all the protections guaranteed a US Citizen (something they are not) charged in a civil and civilian crime inside the USA (these men were apprehended on the battlefield).
Sailwind: Hinckley was also read his "Miranda Rights". Under the weight of US Law -- in whcih these men will be tried -- failure to read to a suspect his or her rights results in a thrown-out case. It'll be a lsam-dunk alright....but a slam dunk forthe defense and these men will walk...
Thanks Prez O...

Can't believet he Kameda chump won it, but I didn't see the entire fight. By the looks of Naito by the end, it looked like he'd taken a pretty good beating.

Boxing has helped me a lot, though many may not consider boxing a martial art, as well as freestyle wrestling (my Daddy taught me a lot of the former and a bit less of the latter).
