If it were anybody else, I'd blow off this talk about Matsui coming back right away, but seeing how the Japanese Mind Set is so invariably different from everywhere else (other players wouldn't stop at one championship - Michael Jordan, anyone?) all bets are off. I wouldn't be surprised if he came back to a conquoring hero's welcome, able to name his price for any team...

At least they didn't choose the Drug Usedrs (Pettite, A-Rod) or the Boozer (Chaimberlain)...and as much as I think Matsui isn't even a close second to Ichiro, he did prove clutch in the Series....

This Worlsd Series shouldn't even count for the Yankees, seeing how Pettite and A-Rod are admitted drug-users. I hate the Yankees, and even morse-so because they let those two (and others in the past) stay on the team after admitting they `roided up. I'm still holding out hope that the Phils will bounce back and defeat them, but its hard to do when facing a team known for using vitamin "S"....

LOL@DickMorris' comment - spot on, mate! And I also believe this is "one-upsmanship" on the part of Japan McDonald's in competition with Burger King....and incidentally, the Burger King near Keisei Funabashi Station - right across form McDonald's - is usually packed arounf lunch and dinner times. It's 1/3rd the size of the McDonald's there in store size, but I'll bet they are giving Micky D's a literal run for their money....

Junnama - Singular apologies by singular government officials is not the same as a full-out, formal apology by the Imperial Government of Japan. Its interestign that every time a government official from Japan "apologizes" for World War Two in the Pacific, the Japanese government and Media distance themselves from that official, and/or that official "explains" to the media what s/he "really" meant. This thing has little to do with money.

Until the Japanese Government owns up to and apologizes for -- in writing -- her guilt in starting and perpetrating the Pacific War, all of this will continue to be ignored. In the eyes of Japan and her government, she did nothign wrong. In fact, if anything, it is the USA's fault for "interfering" in Japan's plan to "civilize" Asia....
