OssanAmerica - Those Koreans were unwillingly pressed into service. They did not willingly volunteer, even if Imperial Japanese Records say that they did. Generally, Koreans were pressed to fight the Allies with threats made against their families if they chose not to. Korea WAS invaded in 1895 followign the Sino-Japanese War, in which Japan illegally netered Choseon Territory, claiming that the Imperial Army had "won" it from the Chinese folowign the end of the Sino-Japanese War. The sad fact is, China never owned the Korean Peninsula, so it wasn't theirs to be "won" from in the first place. The reason that China didn't own the Korean Peninsula was because of one man - Yi Sunsin, possibly the greatest Admiral in History. So profound and complete were Admiral Yi's victories over both the Chinese Army then the Japanese Navy that for 300 years, following Hideyoshi's last invasion of Korea, Korea was independent. Japan's invasion in 1895 and later, use Korea as a staging point for their incursions into Manchuria in 1905 and 1931, were illegal and uncalled for. Not only were the invasion, occupation, and repression and subjugation of the Koreans and Korea illegal, but they were entirely evil, merely for the exploitation of Korean Natural Resources, the attempt to erase Korean Culture, History, and Languages, and the enslavement of countless women as "comfort women" and men as conscripts for the Imperial Army. Had Japan had her way, Korea would not exist today as it does....

As far as this all being sour grapes for the GOP only, I guess we've missed the town hall apearances by Democrats, where hundreds have shown up, questioning the different Senators and Representatives who support this National Healthcare-Obama-led Travesty and couldn't answer in the face of FACTS. I gues we also missed the opinion polls which showed a vast majority of Americans don't want this health care monstrosity.
Oh, and by the way, this thing in Japan of Ambulances with emergency cases being turned away for lack of facilities or equipment ot handle trauma cases? This Health Care thing merely opens the door for the same to happen in the USA...

Great insight in this statement. China will never allow Japan to rearm offensively....
Posted in: For the U.S. army, the bases in Japan are forward deployments in case of a regional conflict. They would also protect Japan if the Chinese or the North Koreans attacked the archipelago. It would mean an attack against the United States that would trigger an automatic response.

Well, let's see, GJDailleut, apparently, solar flares were so bad in 2005 that communications satellitesd were affected, insomuch that sat-TV companies published bulletins about interrupted and disrupted coverage, annd AFN Radio having to cancel sat-received programs from the States. Could that not be conclusive evidence that the Sun could have caused and could be causing this so-called climate change? Further, scientists declared that the Mt. Pinatubo Eruptions in the Philippines blew more CO2 and other greenhouse gasses into the atmoshere than mankind could collectively do in 1,000 years. Seems that'd be pretty heavy truth to the "religion" of man-made climate change denial...

He's lost a fan in me. Anyone who will cheat on their wives in such a fashion is not worthy of trust. I was a Kobe Bryant fan until he did his cheating deed some years ago.

The interesting thing is, President Obama's signature on this piece of paper from Copenhagen means nothing until it is ratified by the Senate. He can sign, sign, sign, and sign some more all the documants until his fingers are blue with ink, but 'twill mean nothing until it clears the US Senate. Sad that these yutzes at this UN Meeting seem to forget that the USA has no king nor Caesar who can sign any document he pleases without ratification by the Senate. Such is not the case in the USA.
I also think it is rather interesting that no conclusive data even exists concerning this whole new "religion" of man-made global "climate change". I'd sooner blame the Sun and volcaonoes before I'd blame people or any country....
