But where are they going next? Iraq has been liberated just as Vietnam was. Iran? Syria? Be afraid. Be very afraid.

“The Mass of Christian burial weaves together memory and hope” Nothing is impossible for God but he must be struggling with Ted. Was he a voice for the most vunerable, the most innocent of human beings? Anything but. The Catholic Church is a strange place sometimes. He should have been excommunicated but he's given a full Catholic burial?

****the funeral Mass on Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica I don't get it. Kennedy was a fervent abortion rights supporter. Don't Catholics excommunicate people with such beliefs? I'm sure Edward is having a nice chat with the late J.C. about "which part of 'thou shalt not kill didn't you understand?"'

Good girl Jennifer. Couldn't have put it better. And I'm sure there are plenty of Irish people who are ashamed that this man could call himself Catholic.

I don't think the Honda Classic is a major. The majors have been a bit strange this year with a 59 year old almost winning the Btitish Open and now Yang upsetting Mr.Woods. Not a good result for Japan.

zurcronium. The reason most western countries are civilized is because of the cross. Religious symbols should be allowed as they add a bit of colour and interest to a drab world. They suggest difference not uniformity. I wish, though, that Moslem countries would show a little bit more tolerence to people of other faiths in their own countries.
Posted in: In some countries, there is a ban on adults and children wearing religious clothing and symbols such as burqas, veils, head scarves, skullcaps, turbans and crucifixes in public places like schools, recreational facilities and so on. What's your stance?

"I Want You" by Dylan is as good as it gets musically. Both from a singing and a writing point of view.
**The guilty undertaker sighs, The lonesome organ grinder cries, The silver saxophones say I should refuse you. The cracked bells and washed-out horns Blow into my face with scorn, But it's not that way, I wasn't born to lose you.
I want you,**
Crazy but brilliant. This story just confirms that Dylan is COOL. (I think)

Um muniqui19 What I was trying to say was that if I had a choice between going to a cricket match or watching a baseball game or watching paint dry I'd choose the latter. Just a personal preference.

People in the States don't know who Dylan is? What's the educational system coming to? I'm sure they'd recognise Paris Hilton.

You can't criticise gays. You can't have a facist form of government. And you can't deny the holocaust.

PleasureGelf Thanks for that. I have checked the figures and "estimated" is the word that keeps coming up. My main point is that the Jews aren't the only people to have suffered. Calling a person a 'Holocaust denier' is much the same as calling someone a 'Facist' or a 'Homophobe' when we don't like what they are saying. It's not a rational argument.

I was just asking the innocent question 'why 6 million'? Why noy 6.5 million or 5.5 million? Everything about the holocaust seems to be set in stone. Of course the Jews suffered terribly but they haven't a monopoly on suffering. Why is it when the holocaust is discussed no one mentiones the 6+ million poles, gypsies and other "undesirables" that the Nazis killed in addition to the Jews? Why indeed? What about the millions who were murdered by Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot ... Has anyone heard of the Armenian Genocide? Don't put Toben in jail. Prove categorically that he is wrong.

Researchers estimate that between 1.1 million and 1.5 million people—mainly Jews—were killed at Auschwitz by the Nazis. In total, 6 million Jews were killed in the genocide.*
I've often wondered why 6 million? Where did that figure come from? Oops not supposed to ask that question, am I?

I wear a Bermuda shorts arrangement and look very cute. Why in this beautiful modern world of ours are people so scared of being, looking different? The burquini sounds awful but let her look awful. It's her problem. "Under the policy, swimmers are not allowed in pools with baggy clothing, including surfer-style shorts. Only figure-hugging suits are permitted." Liberté, égalité, fraternité where are you?
