Most news agencies have said that the police "stormed" the bus, but it certainly didn't look like it. I watched it on youtube and couldn't believe how long it took them to get in there. It literally took them several minutes, during which time I assume the hostages were killed.

Agree with blvtzpk.
There are many programs on Japanese TV that actually provide interesting/educational content. Unfortunately, they are ruined by the way they are presented. For example, can you remember the last time you saw a "sad story" without the obligatory 'talent' crying in the top left frame of the screen?
