This article confirms what we already knew. Plastic surgery, without overdoing it, will make women (physically) more attractive. That has to be a good thing. So all you average looking Japanese girls out there, what are you waiting for!!

m5c32, I thought that was odd too. I've been a Clapton fan for 25 years and I've never heard him been referred to as a "singer". Oh well, I guess he can carry a tune...

Mannerism is a very basic thing in life, and should have been taught at home or in schools.

I think all Japanese are aware of basic manners. Unfortunately, many don't practice them.

With all the news we get on kids being murdered by their parents, it's nice to see this kind of pic/story from time to time. Sure, they are far from normal, but these kids have got a far greater chance in life than, say, a kid whose 18 year-old mother is a pachinko addict and step father is a violent unemployed loser.

    Good for them.

Concerts are canceled all the time in Japan. But not once have I heard the promoter admit it's because of poor ticket sales.

Ms. Jackson is too proud to downgrade to a smaller venue, and from the recent pictures I've seen of her she'd have a hard time herself squeezing onto a smaller stage.

It is a proven fact that people's reflexes begin deteriorating at a certain age. My mother in-law recently stopped driving because of this - she is 62. Assuming that a 74 year-old man is a similar case is NOT discrimination, it's logical.

Old person + car license = DANGER. A generalization that is too often true.

The movie is ok for what it is. As for this photo, I'm glad I watched it with my mates! Glad I wasn't among that bunch.

If I were running a food/beverage establishment in Japan, I would do EXACTLY the same thing.

    Good marketing.

60 interviews in Japan. One would be painful enough.

We all know the questions he's going to get!

According to Japanese law, you will be arrested for negligent driving if you hit someone - whether you were breaking any traffic laws or not.

For example, if you are driving on the correct side, under the speed limit obeying all the traffic rules and a drunk guy runs in front of you, you will be arrested if you hit him.

It's nice that the old folk like the example in this story have the chance to work if they want to.

But I assume the majority of old people you see working are doing it because of slashed pensions, compulsory early retirement and increased welfare costs. This suggests they are not being "wooed back," but rather "forced back."

    Muster the energy... Teehee, whatever!

Kameleon, I think you missed my point. I was expressing my disappointment at how people buy music online thesedays instead of getting the physical product that the artists have worked hard on, including jacket artwork, photography etc.

I buy the music of the people who are not already rich from it. I will not further fill the pockets of those who have WAY too much money already, it is just pathetic greed on their behalf.

Well, I am a music fan. I buy the music that I like. I don't consider the financial status of those who produce it.

Can you honestly say the Beatles NEED any more money than they already have? Do they deserve any more? No way. They have MILKED the planet for music made DECADES ago.

Sorry, I don't see your point. Are you saying that the Beatles have forced "the planet" to buy their music over the last 40 years?

If you can't muster up the energy to get off your fat a#* and go to a CD store, you are not "music worthy", and certainly not "Beatles worthy."

As soon as he gets out of that Yomiuri franchise he will find life a lot better.

You reckon? As far as I know, they treat their players (especially career-long servants) like Gods...
