I saw Coldplay live at Fuji Rock this year. They were a terrific headline act, very strong live performance, easily the most memorable visually and a very strong sound too. They played "Fix You" as part of their encore. Great show.

In the 5 minutes I was waiting for the train, he managed to keep a geo-stationary position about halfway up (or maybe down) the escalator. For all I know, he's still there ...

One of the finest trips I have made in Japan was to Matsue and Izumo. Izumo Taisha is awesome, 'warigo soba' delicious, and the view of Daisen is breathtaking. You can get an overnight sleeper train from Tokyo. Great trip!
