If not: How will they ever compete with the Chinese reactors that do and at 99% efficiency? Debut for Chinese Thorium LFTR styled reactors is 2017 - you see you-tube that makes this declaration? Who can guarantee a supply of Uranium for the enrichment process for conventional reactors? Possibly only an American influenced Canada?

If we are Uber Rich, greedy corporatists seeking only fast ROI are in charge, and we see only from their perspective - then and only then - "throwing part of your population under the bus" so that the other part may prosper becomes a method of choice. On the other hand: A democratically elected, People voted, not corporate money pressure lobbyist elected government, bent on creation a better society for human existence is in power, the greedy ROI worship agenda will fall to second place and Societies wants and needs will come to the front. Canada has a healthy "mix" of these components - both end in disaster, if not moderated by each other in equal proportions.

    Ubuntu - switched to Ubuntu when windows 98 was popular, but only for personal reasons (financial). my most recent computer came with window installed - and it was promptly removed - took up far too much space, was obviously slower, and pablum programs were infuriatingly frustrating. Prefer LibreOffice to OpenOffice, Huge catalogue of free software is delightful, an even larger amount of Open Source software from the net and even some very inexpensive software for Ubuntu is great. Many governments have moved to Ubuntu - for convenience sake - you can tailor, modify, adapt, Open Source yourself to any desired performance. I love it because it is virus free, never stalls or breaks down, and for me at least, has complete simple easy to understand direct forthwith help. Huge number of net based information also available, even U-tube videos.

Electricity, from Thorium primarily, not coal, natural gas, enriched uranium or oil, to become the new energy source of this 21st Century, to supplement Solar, Wind, Wave, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal, Biological: domestic, electric sources for the 'new wave' across the Global Village, and outside and free from the former world-wide Oil/Energy,enriched uranium, monopoly held by the U.S.A.     This technology a vast improvement in Canada's Northlands over the current very long hard to maintain fuel intensive highway and gasoline/rubber tires system. Oil Sands need this service, Edmonton to Calgary , even East to Winnipeg. Cheaper safer and almost as fast as fuel intensive jet flights too!
