Well said bicultural. However, there are no decent soccer grounds here in Fuk. City - and the likelihood of millions of bucks being obtained from somewhere to upgrade one to FIFA standard is zero. The only FIFA standard ground was in Iwaki (J-Village) - which is now HQ for emergency staff. Nice gesture - but simply won't happen.

So have other grubby activities like murder and wife-bashing. Does not mean it is right. If you want to engage in this reckless activity, please pay for private health insurance and don't steal my taxes when you get lung cancer - and don't even dare to physically assault me or my family in public spaces.

What a sad end for a "Gangster" - getting gunned down in a cheap-as-chips family restaurant. One minute he is ordering the 190yen Tiramisu dessert...the next, getting a few caps popped into him. Doesn't do much for his street-cred.

I still remember having to sing "The Greatest Love of All" in a choir as a primary schoolkid in my Catholic school. Still remember all the words which is kinda amazing...

With Tokyo looking like specials to win this time - there are no viable candidates in the whole group of 5 - look out for Glory-hunter Ishihara to change the rules of competition so as he can run the last 10m of the Marathon and win it himself.

We all wish it was - but it does not come any more real than this, my friend. Come up here and have a yarn to the folk who had to move out of their hometowns. A year on, the frustration has only magnified - as has sadly the depression. Life is not - and probably never will be - the same for them again. I hope the point that they are "questioning the system" (for the first time in their lives in many cases) is examined. I applaud these Japanese filmmakers for getting the story of these people out there, and I look forward to the films' release here.

Im guessing "arcade" and "play games" translates as a Pachinko games arcade? Because this couple are so old even Pac-Man and Space Invaders are cutting-edge arcade games for them!
Posted in: We're bored. We have nothing to do. I don't have anything to say to my husband anymore. It's much better to come here than just sit in the house watching TV all day. We need some excitement, too.

Rest in Peace. Any number of things may have happened to him. I have met many normal, family people who come over for the ski season here - they are NOT all "pissed Aussies". A great many Aussies own real estate in Niseko and live there year round.

BTW - my grand-dad had this surgery 30-odd years ago in Sydney. He survived with flying colours - but the lung cancer from smoking ended up killing him!

All the best of luck, bro. It seems he has been dealt a dud deal in terms of his health and body.

@ Equality - having lived here for a bit, the real reason most Japanese wear the masks is to avoid catching colds and flu. At the monet I'd say 70 percent of people in my city are wearing them right now. I doubt they work however, as indicated by the high level of influenza here.

Each new photo or story released on this issue is an absolute goldmine for JT! The usual suspects - both pro and anti-whaling - never cease to get all hot under the collar and fired up behind their PCs - and the hits and comments go through the roof! Good work JT!

@ issa - stop being so negative toward America. They prop your country up financially and they are allowed to check the safety of the products they PAY for. You seem to think Japanese products are perfectly safe for some bizarre (nationalistic?) reason.

There are a few posters on here who seem to think Japanese Auto makers don't produce cars with occasional serious problems. NEWSFLASH: They DO. Let's hope they get the problems sorted so no-one is injured or dies.

C'mon Ted - I'm sure you are a man of reason like the rest of us and trust the Brits over the Argies. It is very likely that 30 years after being OWNED by the Brits in the dispute the Argies are rattling the cage again in their unstable joint as there is political unrest - possibly a coup de tat coming up - the Falkland Islanders have zero interest in Argentina.

I have a sneaking suspicion there may be some Anti-royalists on here! I think "royal" families are anti-democratic too - but there is no harm is wishing for improved health for old Akihito, he is a man worthy of respect.
