No-one here is blaming indigenous people. However this particular group of idiots - they are NOT all Aboriginal by the way - are out of order using violence and threats, burning an Australian flag and so on. Aboriginal leaders suck as Mick Gooda, Noel Pearson, Warren Mundine - the real Aboriginal leaders who command respect among their people - have condemned what this mob did. This mob are not representative of most indigenous Aussies.
Indigenous populations the world over were sadly decimated up to 100 years ago through conflict and disease - look at the Ainu and other tribes of Northern Japan who now number around 200 "full-blood" members. It is the responsibility of society and government to create equal opportunity for all their citizens, no-matter what the race. Recent Aussie governments have been working hard to address problems in indigenous communities, such as medical problems and It is up to communities to do their part too.

I wish for the little boys full recovery - let's hope he gets put into a loving family. The woman is clearly also unfit to ever see the boy again.

Well said, WarnerBro. I agree the theory is garbage. Work hard enough and reach your potential - regardless of ethnicity. I loved watching Michael Chang when I was a kid, one of my favourite players - I even remember when he was in the "Eveready" battery ads! The bloke is a dead-set legend.
Those Chinese are already doing the business and winning them, in womens. Would be nice for Japan if someone steps up and challenges.

Give it a rest. You talk like you have never even lived in Australia or spent time with indiginous Australians. What do you want next - for the Japanese to stop celebrating Foundation Day every year, because the populations of Ainu and other indigenous people in these islands had been decimated by an invading ethnic group from elsewhere in Asia? Australia Day is NOT a celebration of the British colonising the continent. It is a day for all Aussies to celebrate together what an amazing nation that they have built together - the indigenous people, and those from every other nation under the sun. A celebration of probably the most stable and progressive of all nations, one of the first real democracies, the first to give women the vote...where do I start?
BTW - you need to check your figures. There were NEVER 22million indigenous Australians on the continent. Most historians believe 750,000 would have been the maximum possible population at time of British settlement. But then again, I doubt you have ever researched Aboriginal culture and are just looking to make cheap shots.

@ Pizzaface - Indigenous Aussies are also Australian - most of them also enjoy the national holiday. There was previously talk of shifting Australia Day to January 1 to mark the start of independence in 1901 - however it would clash with New Year. And I'm sure it would not stop some of these professional protesters (many of the leaders have no indigenous blood by the way) from trying to ruin everyone's holiday. January 26 it is, and I'll be drinking some great Aussie red tonight in celebration!
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY FELLOW AUSSIES!

What a disgrace this unwashed mob are. I'm all for equal rights, have some indigenous roots myself, and am glad my government made apologies for the outrageous treatment a long time ago by the British and Australian governments toward indigenous people - especially "the stolen generation". But enough is enough. What more do es this mob want? The "tent embassy" outside Parliament House is an embarrassment to their own people and should be razed to the ground.
Fortunately, most indigenous people in Australia are normal, level-headed folk who just get on with things. Unlike this ragtag bunch. Thanks for wrecking Australia day, ya bums!

Maybe Mr. Nishikori has not heard of a certain bloke by the name of Mr.Michael Chang. Chang was a guy that worked his butt off, never stopped running, never gave up - and snared a Major. I also never heard him use his ethnicity as an excuse when he was being blasted by 6 foot 6 monsters - the bloke just got on with it!

The Japanese government kept their citizens in the dark? Wow - what a surprise! The men in suits running this joint really don'd think much of Japanese people.

@ AmericanForeigner - fair f@cks to you mate. If you are living in an American enclave no problem. I can understand you not watching any Japanese TV (yes - it is garbage) - and only wanting your kids to learn what you want. I just hope you expose nthem to as much different culture as you can - a multi-cultural upbringing can surely be beneficial for them. There is no such thing as a "Mono-Culture" any more.

A couple things that changed for my lifestyle here:
Positive: I began riding a girly-like bicycle with a basket on it.
Negative: I became a smoker for the first time (unwillingly) whenever I visit a cafe, restaurant or izakaya. Maybe lost a year or 2 from my life!

Well done to the Murray kid - he looked fresh and had too much stamina for Mr. Nishikori. Congrats to Kei - first man from Japan to make Quarters of a Major in 17 years is an achievement - but he has to go one better now and beat the big boys. As another poster recently said, bulking up may be necessary to compete with these guys - the game has changed now - some of them have the body strength of a weightlifter with the technique of Bjorn Borg! Federer for the Cup for mine, even though all the bookies are saying Djokevic is a special...

Umm, the story needs a minor correction - the area of Date is not largely evacuated. I am there once a week, not much has changed there except for some vege/rice fields not being harvested. Can't see any businesses closed. I hope he has regular testing on his milk products though. I will try and find his shop and support him!

If these maggots were on fire, I for one wouldn't stop to help them - I'd probably chuckle. Cowards who will end up achieving nothing in life - I only wish they could be named and their address exposed. They live in the slums of Nerima Ward - I wonder which High School they attend? Pity the poor teachers there. May have to check 2ch and see if them mob have been able to get info on them...

This Kuriyama fellow seems to think money is what sport is all about. Players should be paid and paid well - the revenue from pay TV is simply mind-boggling and sport is a business I agree - but to state that a bloke needs more than $10 Mill a year will put him offside with the fans. I mean, I'm sure Darvish will still be able to afford the Rolls Royces, daily caviar, chauffers, butlers and maids - he isn't going to go hungry! And the Nippon Ham officials and staff will probably soon be seen driving Ferraris around Hokkaido I'd imagine...
