Maybe the cops ARE guarding these protesters from TEPCO. I'm sure many have heard the rumours flying around of TEPCO hiring goons in the past to "deal with" anti-nuclear protesters - I am hoping they are just rumours but you never know...

Haven't these morons learnt to bow properly? That is a lame effort considering how many people around the world their company has affected. I say nationalise SONY, J-Govt!

A note to Yu-na: This what you end up looking like when the hype off the ice doesn't match who you can be on the ice.

I may be wrong - but I think Kim is the Olympic champion. Miki would swap this medal for Olympic Gold I reckon. Anyway - they both have beautiful legs - thats the most important thing.

Kim is still more beautiful, even if she isn't a great ice-skater. Just wish they showed a nicer pic of her...

The closest Tadano has been is a furtive search on Google Earth.

Everyone should check the damage along "The Tsunami coast" on Google earth, just shocking. Agree with Sherman - well-written story.

nice head of hair........" lucky " dude

I agree Oberst! For a 44-year-old with a shock of hair like that (is it real though is the big question ?!) - the bloke deserves a girl as young as possible! It's only right...

He has done well - a woman 14 years younger! Good luck to them both, out of tragedy comes a bright future.

Even bigger and longer hug to Arai san, but with a rough braided rope.

here, here. I'm sure everyone agrees with this. Let's just hope the girl is OK psychologically after this crime.

That's about US $130,000 for the piano - and $95,000 for Kazu's studs! Great stuff - and all proceeds will help buy vital medical supplies, food and shelter for Tohoku's victims. Well done to these two stars and the bidders!

    Why is it always Saitama!

Big, working-class city = loads of crime.

Baa~~...Baaa~~~~ Making the most of the 10 days of holidays they get per year.

Their 10 consecutive days, you mean - they seem to have a lot of other random holidays thrown in that make me envious! Something like 17 national holidays total I think? (Govt workers at least - I'd imagine the private sector workers don't get that many)

The old Llama bloke is here - did Richard Gere and all the Hollywood "buddhists" join in? Anyway, if this sermon comforts some of the flock here, good on him.

Kozo Watanabe, a senior lawmaker from his Democratic Party of Japan, who said Kan should have visited the headquarters of Tanigaki’s Liberal Democratic Party and ‘‘asked him while deeply bowing.’‘

Ha ha ha! It is great we have the daily comedy show that is Japanese "politics" to keep us laughing in these grim times! Muppets, the lot of them.

I don't see why the monarchy should be done away with.

From a ceremonial point of view - and generating tourist money - I kind of agree. However, the fact remains that this role is not representative of overall society. Britain, for example, is a very multicultural society - however for some reason a Catholic/Hindu/Muslim/Atheist cannot be a monarch - only a Protestant. A baby born in the UK of Bangladeshi origin, for example, should have a chance of being her nations "figurehead", not just people from one religion or background. Granted - most monarchs have been forced over time to accept a mere ceremonial role which is good.

I agree with Klein - let's not dwell too much on these awful events. Sure - remember those who have passed - but let's all move on and be positive. This book will likely appeal to those far from disaster like Tokyo, Osaka and overseas. Too close to home for Tohoku people. If $10 goes toward rebuilding the joint, though, I think it is a worthwhile charity. I wouldn't be able to read it though...
