Superlib, I know China pollutes massively, but I maintain that they would be even worse if they emulated the U.S. That's all. But some here think capitalism is the solution to everything even while their favorite politicians go socialist on them.

Moderator: Stay on topic please. Neither China nor pollution are relevant to this discussion.

“Had this stupid act been done to Senator (Barack) Obama, there would appropriately have been a national outcry,” he said in a statement.

I hope somebody tests that theory. Morrisette should get right on it, in the interests of fairness and testing the theory (which I think probably would have been true in the absence of the Palin and McCain mannequins.)

Anyway Mr. Morrisette, any relation to Alanis? --Cirroc

So, by letting JTP speak for his campaign, McCain put FOX news in the unlikely position of defending Obama. This reflects the judgment of a leader we can trust? I think most Americans will agree "No."

No indeed. JTP is not a spokesman of the McCain Campaign, nor will his foreign policy ideas be utilized if McCain wins, nor does his misrepresentation of Obama's position have any bearing on McCain's position. Its just Joe showing what a confused gullible individual he is, just like most of the population.

Anyway, thank you Betzee for sharing that. I knew the talk was nonsense as such should embarrass anyone who repeats it, I just had nothing to prove it. Thanks again. --Cirroc

    But why take any risk?

If you think there is any risk whatsoever of the U.S. becoming a truly socialist country if Obama is elected president (as opposed to being elected dictator), then you are a fool of the highest caliber. That alone could be a reason to vote for someone other than you guy you support.

Anyway, plenty of socialist countries seem to be doing just fine. Some are our allies. But we subsidized our banks and loaning institutions even before they did, and I doubt Obama could do anything more socialist than that act of GWB and our sell-out congress, which was influenced to vote for that socialist measure by one John McCain. Perhaps you've heard of him? --Cirroc

There are people today who think Apollo 11 never landed on the moon.

Why should anyone think otherwise? There might be more indirect evidence for that than say, the existence of God. But what direct evidence is there? How many witnesses on site? Not that I don't believe it did happen, but most of reasons for believing it did are faith based. I am not in the habit of mocking people who do not share my faith, because I do not have the proof to prove them wrong.

Anyway, I kind of wish Wells had never come along and showed the world how stupid and gullible people are.

China: Another failed communist state, though more true to it's government label then neighbouring Viet Nam.

Good post Smith. But I am not sure why China is a failure. They have a billion souls to juggle and all the troubles that come with that figure, but seem to be doing pretty well considering. If they went pure capitalist and started polluting on a per capita basis on the level of the U.S. , gosh, the planet would be doomed.

He's not demonstrated competence to discuss plumbing

Says who? The man is employed as a plumber. I think that entails some knowledge of plumbing, and not just theory either.

Anyways, JTP agreed with a person in the crowd who said "a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel."

I am not sure what has brought in that opinion. I am also no sure why any Christian would be overly concerned with a country of people that have forsaken Christ. Even Muslims recognize Christ as a prophet! Maybe it has less to with prophets and more to do with profits? --Cirroc

Driver should be saying that not the police.

The police might be relaying the stories of eye-witnesses, who would have been in a better position to notice that he caught his foot and fell. The driver might have been pretty busy with other things to notice such a detail.

The guy very well might have made a rash decision to try and beat the train. --Cirroc

Still, if I felt a big bumb under my car I would stop and look. The guy sounds like a liar.

Maybe he is a liar. But do you think he would have gotten any mercy if he had stopped to see?

you are supposed to be looking where you are going

Sure, but of all the things out there that driver's have to dodge, an idiot sleeping or passed out on the road can be a tough one to spot. There are some pretty dark spots out there, and given angles and the size of people, it can be hard to determine if that is a person, a board, or just some rubbish on the road. I would need to see the video and the spot before coming down too hard on this guy. The authorities will just do it automatic. --Cirroc

Bad move. The Russians should accept the monitors with open arms. Doing otherwise only shows that someone has something to hide, and it may be more the rebels than the Russians who do, but the Russians speak for the rebels.

How anyone could support the rest of Georgia over the rebels in this, I have no idea. But many do, so the Russians on the defensive. Still, they should accept the monitors. --Cirroc

Obama only has two years experience in the Senate -- the other two years, he was running for President.

He also has state senate experience.

McCain is a loser who has been shot down once, and he is about to be shot down again.

Plenty of vets got shot down over North Vietnam. They were not shooting rice at our planes. They had Soviet made AA guns and missles. McCain never played by the rules much, but his record is heroic even if its slightly chaotic. He is like having a good hearted biker for a politician.

    Don't promise something you can't carry out. < :-)

but thought it might have been an animal.

And he was correct. It takes the mentality of an animal to sleep on the road. I have been extremely drunk. I do not think it is possible to be so drunk to do this, you have to pretty stupid. Stupid like a possum.

That's the first time we've heard this information.

It was on video this time, that is why. Otherwise we would only have the driver's word on it. I wonder how many times this has happened and everybody blamed the driver for being careless? Well, they will still call the driver careless. In Japan, if you car hits something, you have to stop and check. Nevermind the risk to life pulling over on a narrow road and getting out of your car. Remember the guy who got killed when he stopped to help the two ladies who had an accident? Hit by a car. Welcome to Japan where you are damned if you and damned if you don't. And it would be unseemly to blame a dead guy for his own drunken suicide. --Cirroc

Basically, I side with seesaw. But also, I warn seesaw that jumping for the sexual motive with no proof at all exposes something about seesaw. So at least keep it civil if you have not been all along.

Yes, a woman is dead. But when the motive is revealed, the woman's appearance of innocence might be swept away. She might have really done something really nasty to the gardener. Then again, she may be the poor innocent woman we all want to believe she was, and the gardener the foul villian. But in any case, killing never warranted.

Ok Nippon5, here is the proof. McCain accused Obama of wanting to tip off the enemy before an attack

    http://www.gmanews.tv/story/125934/Fact-check-Obama-McCain-twist-records

McCain went on: "I'm not going to telegraph my punches, which is what Sen. Obama did.

Understand that McCain will still punch, he just won't telegraph it. Here, another quote:

Asked if "you'd go get him" if U.S. forces had a fix on bin Laden in Pakistan, McCain said: "Sure. Sure. We have to, and I'm sure that after the initial flurry, that whoever our friends are, wherever he is, would be relieved because, as I mentioned to you before, he's still very effective in the world, very, very effective."

Well, I have some dubious feelings about this. America seeing diplomacy as a last resort is getting pretty sickening. But on the other hand, if the Syrians cannot do anything about these militants abusing the border then somebody has to. Still, I would much prefer that the U.S. try diplomacy first, and if that fails, then pull something like this.

But for crap's sake, try to capture alive. Situations like this warrant a trial. Caught red-handed crossing the border and fire away. But at home on the farm and get a sudden raid? Its hard to know if you shot up the right people.

I am glad that we at least got some names and an explanation. I thought they would just try to sweep this under the rug like the attack drone on the school in Pakistan. --Cirroc

Obama stated that if terrorist use locations in other countries to attack other countries of American intrest then we will go after those people in their countries with or without the countries permission......

I think you are completely wrong about that Nippon5. Can you quote him? I think you have McCain confused with Obama? --Cirroc

The virtual killer is sitting in a jail cell in Hokkaido and her home is in Miyazaki.

    Odd as heck isn't it?

And the number of people who still don't understand what she was arrested for is not odd, but rather pathetic. --Cirroc

The motive could have been so many things, even just a fit of murderous insanity. There is not anything here to even begin to field a guess except money being as he was homeless and did work for the woman. But those could not be any slimmer.

Of course, no respectable woman would hire a man who lives in his car

Say what? Where the heck did that come from? Putting the homeless to work is a noble deed. Risky while the hubby is away, but that does not make it unworthy of a respectable woman. I can't even call your contention old fashioned. So what the heck is it then? --Cirroc

I love how in Japan you need a permit for a demonstration

This prompted a facepalm. Yeah, we all got subjected to the brainwashing program called "school" where they tell us our country is free, free, free, but never get into the details of such things as needing a permit for a demonstration.

Just because they never told you needed one does not mean you don't. Go ask at city hall. Go ask how free you are. I dare you. I double dare you! --Cirroc
