Why?
The trouble with sex ed anywhere is that once the PTA gets its hands on it, it becomes worthless for anything but fear mongering about sex. --Cirroc

Perhaps McCain should have asked, socratically, "Why are the American people so concerned about image?". Palin has to dress well to win, and it has to do with the shallowness of voters.
Would everyone have been happy if she dressed as well but saved some money by comparison shopping? I doubt it. Instead we would have had a story about how Palin the clothes horse wastes all her time shopping and is therefore unfit to be VP.
So if you think the amount spent on clothes disqualifies her, think again. She is doing precisely what the voters demand, only the voters are in denial about their own expectations. That is not the fault of Sarah Palin "around with terrorists". Its other things that disqualify her. --Cirroc

If you did not read franz75's post, do so now. Some of you are as gullible as jr. high school students.
I guess it was not possible to kill her character's husband through her own character. Perhaps that option should be added?
Anyway, seems like Matrix version 1.0. Expect it to get more sophisticated. --Cirroc

Special memorandum to medievaltimes: Your country is still not "most of the world."
And keeping it all relevant, his age is not relevant in Japan anyway. Interestingly, for all the prejudice the Japanese people get accused of, ageism is not one they pander to. The ability to consent does not depend on the other person's age. That is just a very silly idea. --Cirroc

Even the mentally retarded one whose court appointed attorney slept most of the trial? Yeah, it happens. Even to people who actually did not do the crime. You know what happens when the wrong man is executed? Case closed, and the real killer walks free.
Or even be falsely accused! Basically, just don't go to Texas. --Cirroc

Yes, you are right. Thank you thundercat.
That changes things, but if the terebi tarento are to be believed some people do carry that kind of cash for no apparent reason. It is hard to say if that is true or not, but the Japanese do a lot of things we would not expect. --Cirroc

So what? So killing is wrong. If you start meddling with reasons for making it right, you actually justify some murders.
And real people have to perform the execution and facilitate it. Those people have to sleep at night.
Also you don't seem to realize that it costs more to execute someone than it does to keep them in jail for life.
And last but not least, mistakes happen. You can release people from jail, but you cannot reunite body and soul. Mistaken executions are final. --Cirroc

I am sure if you guys had your way, all consensual sex would be punishable.
In most countries the age of consent is around 16, so no he would not be jailed and he would not be labeled a pedophile. Sorry to ruin your punishment for sex fantasies.
I would guess that the age of consent is 18 in Kagoshima, so I don't know why that bit is glossed over. But as long as she was not forced or coerced, I don't really care. --Cirroc

So much money? It was only about $250 U.S. In this country 24 hour ATMs are still kind of rare, and everything is expensive, so it is pretty standard to carry such amounts. It is easy to burn through that kind of cash on a date.

Why arrest anyone Scrote? Why can't adults sell and buy sex? XXX movie makers do just that all the time. The only difference is that they film what they paid for and sell the product, no real difference at all. --Cirroc

I predict this will be a bad move. Prostitution should not be illegal, but it most certainly should be regulated. What this will do is tie the authority's hands to do much of anything at all, and prostitution will run rampant and out of control. Prostitutes need to have their rights protected, and not just their right to work. They also need to have regular check ups.
Regulate it, because letting it run wild will be dangerous. --Cirroc

Killing is too good for such people. I recommend a cell filled with water up to his neck. A harness should be strapped to him that he will be unable to climb but will pull him out the water should his head be below the surface for say 30 seconds. Should make for nice naps! --Cirroc
