To solve this , need political wisdom. maybe we should have a rule : no navy and Air Force is allowed in the island region. this would assure that this issue would not lead to war. but I don't think Abe is going to do it. he is the nationalist .
people here think the J government buy the islands , in order to better manage them. but is there possibility that the J government is working with isihara to buy the islands? do you believe that isihara don't have any communication with j government before proposing buying the island ? the purpose is to let the government buy it. if Ishihara buy the islands , do you think he really plan to build facility on it? I doubt about it. Ishihara don't want to buy the islands, he want the government to buy it. he is working with government .
people think these islands belong to Japan . think about it . why the US only hand the administration right to Japan ? if it belongs to Japan, why not hand the sovereignty to Japan?? Japan is the ally of US.
we sometimes don't use our mind. we all some kinds of nationalist. that is the reason why war happens. we are irrational and emotional in the territory issue.

People in china don't like communism , a lot of them are not satisfied with the society, they want change. Communism need to consolidate its ruling. Due to these domestic reason and Japan's invasion history, china is not afraid of war.
ChinafujianrenFeb. 06, 2013 - 03:33PM JST
It is terriority issue, have nothing to do with the communism. If china is democracy, the war may have already been started, so many Chinese support the war(so many reasons) with Japan . If the war starts , think about china's missile, I believe it may be used heavily .

Before the 911(Japan nationalizes the island), china protested fiercely. Even president Hu warned PM japan not to do it in a meeting just a day before 911. But Japan paid no attention to it, nationalized it as planned. It is a kind of impolite, at least you should postpone it. Now China has to be firm, because the status has already been changed by Japan. A lot of guys here said china is a boiled child, but if you are Chinese , you will have a different perspective. Japan invaded china in the past , now nationalized our land, how will you feel if you are Chinese ? Communism is losing legal status in china. Believe they will fight if Japan shoot our ship. Also, the diaoyu island belongs to Taiwan . So China will defend the diaoyu firmly, like defending Taiwan . A war is option for China, but we won't shoot , wait for the Japan to start.

I believe this issue will last for a long time. a solution for it is just ignoring it, don't report it. In China, this issue is used to shift people's attention from domestic problems to the foreign affairs and consolidate the legal ruling of communism. so china media should report it again and again. Japan can just ignore it..

Can Japan fight with China without US help? Let us be men!!!
ChinafujianrenFeb. 05, 2013 - 02:48PM JST
let Japan shoot first! if china don't fight back, people will protest , then communism will collapse ! I like that!!

ishihara did a great job, I should say.. Right now, he has achieved his goal, that is , he is extremely famous. The history will remember him. The politician like to play games, they are seeking the opportunity in the games.. The ordinary people, like us, are just played with by them. They brainwashed us to believe we should fight for the country, but they can enjoy the champagne and the fame.
Finally , got a little tired about typing now.
The truth is : this issue is not going to be a war......

The Chinese media keeps on reporting the island issue. I believe it is for the political purpose. The communism is pushed to initiate a political reform. But I doubt it would like to do it...( how many years have passed?? ). So the Diaoyu islands is used by the politician.( Also in Japan).. This is why it could be dangerous.. For the politician , they care about their interest..
As the ordinary people , we are too small that we are always used by the politician to achieve their political goal.
They don't care how many people will die.. They care their interest.. Especially for the communism, they really don't care..

Well, it will be good if Japan could shoot one down. I doubt if the US will help the Japan in that case.
I believe the communism will fight back. Because , for them , the best interest is keeping ruling the country. (Do you know, if the communism collapses, a lot of communist will have a tragic life.) If they don't fight back, they are risking in losing the control of the country.
Take the korean war for example. a lot of Chinese lost lives in that war. But by fighting with US and building up the North Korean, the communism has more chance to survive. ( Now the communism in China give a lot of money , food to the North Korean, they don't want the North Korean to collapse)
The Diaoyu island could be a second "korean war" for the communism to survive in China.
Let's wait and see.

For the guys who are talking about the ICJ:
I am not familiar with the ICJ. But I guess if you administer the islands, you will have more chances to win.
For these islands, we think that they belong to China. Japan stole them when we were weak. Since China is controlled by communism and don't have a good relationship with US, US is not willing to give it back. In fact , US use these islands to cause trouble between China and Japan. (Think about it , Japan is the ally of US, why US only give the administration right to Japan, not the sovereignty..... the answer is : these islands don't belong to Japan. If it belongs to Japan, it make no sense that the US didn't hand over the sovereignty to Japan.)
US is celever. It knows this issue is going to be a big issue. The tension (not the war) between China and Japan is the best interest of US.
But who knows if this is not going to lead to a war..
Nobody can assure of that..

Do you really think the warning shot is going to help ?? Do you think China will be afraid of that shots??? Believe that if Japan does, China will respond fiercely, at least firing the "warning shots" too. A lot of Chinese are not satisfied with the communism, and the society. They want a change. Also due to the historical reason, if the Communism want to have a war with Japan, they will get a lot of support, which will help the communism to keep ruling the country. So don't underestimate this issue.
From Chinese media, it said that abe sent a letter to China which suggests that "let the next generation solve this issue". This is good. But it may be not going to work. The Japan government has "nationalized" the islands, but China get nothing. A better solution may be is : the private takes the islands back from the Japan Government and Japan could still administer the islands , China can send the fishing ship to the sea around the islands, but China cannot send the surveillance ship to that area..
But I doubt if Japan is going to do it .... And I think that may be the bottom line for China.
PS: I don't care if there is a war or not. Because I have nothing in China. Nothing to lose... And probably I like something that could ruin the communism.
