You can't "forbid" someone to commit suicide. If the person is sick and tired of life, he or she won't think "Oh wait, according to my religion I can't kill myself".

I was referring to this: Suicide is more common among atheists. Maybe Japan should adopt a national religion, which forbids suicide.
