adaydream; think as you will. My view is the opposite. The Russians will be gone soone rather than later. US Strength and political tact has done the job well, as it has for the last 60 or so years.

The fact that strong warnings have been given to Russia over their ilegal invasion, also the fact that 3 warships will soon be docked near to Russia, shows we mean business. The Russian mentality only admires signs of strength and power. As we have shown both, Russia respects us, and withdraws to avoid a wider conflict.

The US has sent 1 warship, 2 others are on the way. This is a show of strength the Russian government cannot ignore. The Russians may be moronic, but i doubt they are suicidal. They know we are prepared to use force to end any invasion plans They may have.
US military force may be needed, and if we use it, we will be fully justified.

I was impressd with the Chinese effort, but there was more style than substance. I was very dissapointed with internet access blocked, and heavy handed attitude to demonstrators.
The athletes made the event memorable.
