I would like to see how they sped up the epoxy resins, and what they are using to squeeze the excess out with. Up till now its been expensive autoclaves or vacuum bagging.
I would also like to point out that carbon is more pliable than steal hence a small fender bender may not leave any damage other than the outer clear coat scratched or marred.
Gm was building composite based cars back in the 80's the Fiero was their first followed by the Lumina van. They also used epoxy based adhesives like Audi did to attach the panels to the structure of the vehicle. This not only saved time but also saved in reducing expensive robotic spot welders on the line to weld on steal panels.
The Corvette has always been a composite car but was manly sections built from singe or multi parts to complete the section. One piece front ends, and body sections are normal for the vett however this also makes replacement parts expensive because you need to buy a complete piece where the Fiero and the lumina parts were sold individualy.
BMW is using carbon in its roof panels and other areas of the body to reduce the weight as well as adding a racier look to it.

Doesnt matter sarge they are not running for election.
Now I'm sure all of us have had to go to a interview wearing the best clothes we had, but wouldn't it be nice if the prospective company would give you the clothes you needed for the interview even if you didn't get the job.
I just think Palin is a moron period. Just look at her interviews, hell she still doesn't even know what a VP does, well she thinks she gets to meddle in the senate.

By the pay you can put a pig in a new dress its still a pig in a dress. By the way Ill take my chances with Obama as far as leaders of the most powerful country goes. Um like so many others I live on this planet too, and the possibility of Palin having control of anything scares me. By the way they should have spent the 19.99 on a VP for dummies, cause she still doesn't have a clue on her job duties.

Sweet take of this on the New yorker
Primarily for two reasons, those of temperament and of judgment.
When the economic crisis broke, I found John McCain bouncing all over the place. In those first few crisis days, he was impetuous, inconsistent, and imprudent; ending up just plain weird. Having worked with Ronald Reagan for seven years, and been with him in his critical three summits with Gorbachev, I’ve concluded that that’s no way a president can act under pressure.
Second is judgment. The most important decision John McCain made in his long campaign was deciding on a running mate.
That decision showed appalling lack of judgment.

I remember when dubya cut a check for between 300 and 600 for everyone in the states. So if obama is giving a tax credit isn't he really doing what dubya did with out all the paperwork. By the way what did that all cost anyways, you know printing, postage, verification, or does that not matter as well.

Seams to me Sarge and all his alter egos were just three weeks ago spouting how stable and strong the economy was. Now for the kick to the groin
In 1982, the same year John McCain entered the Senate, a bill was put forward that would substantially deregulate the Savings and Loan industry. The Garn-St. Germain Depository Institutions Act was an initiative of the Reagan administration, and was largely authored by lobbyists for the S&L industry -- including John McCain's warm-up speaker at the convention, Fred Thompson. The official description of the bill was "An act to revitalize the housing industry by strengthening the financial stability of home mortgage lending institutions and ensuring the availability of home mortgage loans." Considering where things stand in 2008, that may sound dubious. It should.
Seven years later, the S&L industry was collapsing. What was the cause? Garn-St. Germain handed the S&Ls a greatly expanded range of capabilities, allowing them to go head to head with full service banks, but it didn't give them the bank's regulations. Left to operate in an anarchistic gray area, S&Ls chased profits, indulged in amazing extravagances, and cranked out enough cheap mortgages to fuel a real estate boom. They also experimented with lots of complex, creative -- and risky -- investments, even though they didn't have the economic models to really determine the worth of the things they were buying. The result was a mountain of bad debts and worthless "assets." Does any of that sound eerily (or nauseatingly) familiar?
It wasn't a foregone conclusion. In 1985, three years after the deregulation of the S&Ls, the chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board saw that the situation was already looking shaky, with the potential to become much worse. He instituted a rule to limit the amounts and types of investments S&Ls could carry on their books in an effort to head off disaster. However, many savings and loans -- among them Lincoln Savings & Loan Association of Irvine, CA, which was headed by a fellow named Charles Keating -- promptly ignored these rules.
Im sorry I have lost the link to the complete story but I will post is as soon as I can find it.
