Strangely, some of the most successful people I know smoke pot

Not strange at all, sucessfull people can do it all. Do they deserve to go to jail just because some others are using it unresponsibly?

as opposed to the slackers everyone else sees.

Could it be that the slackers like to be potheads rather than sucessfull people turn into slackers by smoking pot? And who are these everyone else we're talking about? Most people I know are responsible hard working people that think it's their god given right to light up one after a long day at work. I've never seen a hardworking person, who cares about his life, health and wealth, destroyed by pot. Just doesn't happen.

All in all the free and legal consumption of marijuana is going to cause increased health problems and the tax payer will bear the burden. They talk about taxing it, but since they can have their own "garden" (and marijuana grows like a weed) I don't think that taxation will be effective in recovering the true cost of marijuana consumption.

How about millins of dollars going into pockets of cartels becuase it's illegal. Don't you think making it legal will stop that? Cartels and gangs are only surviving because of illegality of this plant. They just can't make enough money to survive if people could have their own gardens and grew their own plants. And taxing will be very effecitive if the sale of it is controlled. I also believe it will reduce the consumption of chamical drugs. Noone will risk jailtime doing chemical drugs, when they can buy this legally from the corner store. Legalizing pot can and will increase public health, reduce crime, stop the money flow to gangs and cartels and just promote better community than what we have today.

Marijuana has been linked to higher rates of mental health problems (particularly schizophrenia), and has all the disadvantages of smoking (increased risk of cancer)) and none of the precautions (filters, etc), plus it has the same public risks (second hand smoke).

That is such a bull crap!! It does not cause any mental issues that didn't already existed. No risk of cancer either if it's not mixed with tobacco. I can't say something you burn and inhale can be good for you, but compared to it's nearest cousin tobacco, it's harmless. THis law is not for allowing people to light up in front of other people, it's made to save thousands of innocent people from going to jail for carrying small amount of it. It's way overdue. And about the Africa example, tribes depend on the work of young people, they simply can't just allow them to smoke and enjoy their lives. Pot won't make you wanna work, it will make you want to sit down, relax and enjoy life. I don't think it's good for kids either. It should only be consumed for recreational purpoeses, by adults, when all the work is done and it's time to relax. It's not a drug and shouldn't be put in same basket as dangerous chemical mixes.

Could he be upset because legalizing pot will result to taking the profit out of criminal's hands? If it's available at the local stores, noone will ever deal with criminals. The only reason Pot is considered a "gatway drug" is because it's available in same place where they sell dangerous chemical drugs. Pot is not a human made chemical mix, it's a plant sent by god. It shouldn't be put in same basket as dangerous chemical mixes, that are extracted and purified. Making it legal will solve problems, not create new ones. What is worse than consuming recreational drugs is to suponsor cartels and gangs by doing it.

I say no income tax is the fairest of all. Why should I pay part of my salary to the government while they are taxing on every single item I buy already. Tax on my car, my house, land, even my bonus. They should tax rich people and companies, not poor individuals.

    Sabiwabi,

Just wanted to thank you for the great information you provide to this discussion. And keeping you cool with idiots who believe otherwise.

There is no way that steal structures fall like they did in 911.

how revisionists attempt to chip away at logic and rational thinking.

I don't think you can believe the official story and talk about logic and rational thinking. Anyone that knows about simple physics can understand that buildings don't fall like they did in the event of 911.
Sabiwabi's post about silversteen and others are true. They could pull something like this off simply because they know, most people are ignorant fools that believe anything they hear on TV.

I see that 26% here believe al-Qaida was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Over 1 in 4. Incredible...

What's incredible to me is that 3 in every 4 believes the official story.

I watched 9/11 massacres live on TV. There's no way it was demolition. I believe it was Al-Qaida.

I also watched it live on TV. At that time, from the shock and surprise, I didn't think it was staged. But after the shock was gone, watching it time and time again, seeing the top tower is falling in an angle, there were no other explanation but controlled demolution. I saw the construction pictures of WTC twin towers. There are huge central columns that could not be just destroyed by some heat in upper floors. Both buildings came down under 10 seconds. Like they did not receive any resistance from lower floors. It's insane to believe in a pancake theory. It's insane to believe in official story.

The passengers revolted and too control of the plane. It was then shut down by the air-force to wipe out any evidence

I don't believe those planes had passengers on them. They were not even comercial planes.

Anyone who believes 9/11 was the result of a man in a cave, then you're a complete nitwit! The evidence is 100% clear that it was an inside job!

I couldn't have said it better. Evidence is 100% clear. Never in the past, steal structure has been failed. Never. and I know it will never happen again. Unless of course if there's a need for another war. Or US army wants to pick a fight. And they won't mind killing some 3000 of their own people, if they believe it's for greater good.
I know, for some, it's very hard to believe that powers within their government can execute a plan like this. But the sad fact is, they have. They did brought those buildings down in front of the whole world, because they know that there are more ignorant people out there, who will believe the official story, no matter how stupid it sounds. They won't investigate further, they won't care enough to search the truth. Like Morpheus said about people in matrix, "they are so hopelessly depended on the system that they will fight to protect it".

And for all you who say that they were "clearly controlled demolitions" please state your professional or academic credentials to prove that you're not just talking crap.

I don't have to have academic credentials, I can just believe the ones who has. http://www.ae911truth.org/
