This Honda guy is doing the right thing, even though it took him oh... 5.9 years too long to do it. Hopefully hell be able to find someone who likes a healthy relationship.

"we (fellow Americans) may be some of the same culprits taking up more than his or her share" --- well if you are talking about the ones that live here, more often than not, this is not the case. However the tourists usually cant help this since they are 42X the size of the average Japanese person.
Getting drunk and stinking up the train is pretty high on my list, as is the attitude, that mostly older Japanese have, where they find it okay to throw elbows and push their way into or out of the train, as if no one else is trying to get out. I saw one drunk *@&hole elbow someone right in the spine and then try to play it off like he didnt when the guy got near punching him in the face. I would have totally gone to the cops with the guy if he would have punched him and acted as a witness that the drunk ass-wipe elbowed him pretty damned hard. Im talking mosh pit style, he REALLY hit him. Had that have been me, im fairly certain id have spent the night in the police station.

Baseball is slow, boring, and difficult to draw money from young people when they have alternatives like games and more interactive entertainment. Why sit in a chair for 4-5 hours watching some guy throw a ball around when you can be "a part" of another form of entertainment?

I sincerely hope this guy gets the maximum punishment. (Hopefully death) The amount of social acceptance that goes with crimes against young women in this country is unacceptable and needs examples to be made. I wouldnt say death usually, but based on the q/a above, it is clear this guy doesnt give a shit and is just saying what he needs to in order to get cleared.

Why is this bill even an issue? Last time I checked (outside of the already covered rape and god forbid incest) people dont just slip on the sidewalk and get pregnant. Im pretty sure you have to elect to have sex. Its time people started facing the music for their decisions. You want to have sex? Thats fine, its your right, but the consequences should not be the governments responsibility. There are plethora of BOTH male and female birth control methods. If pregnancy isnt for you, then use/have him use one method.

Im with you diggerdog. Total waste of time and took up way too much time on the tube that could have been filled with celebreties watching other celebrities saying "oishiiiiiii" about some horrid concoction that would take 3 horses to eat. There is really no reason for this family to have any titles at all. They hold no power, and play no important role in Japan outside of everyone listens to him. (Which could easily be replaced by random gravure idol no. 12974239 on a television commercial)

When you are stalked and killed by some wack-job that came into the club and got infatuated with you because you paid him a lick of attention, im going to be the one asking: "was it worth the money?" As a matter of fact, there was just recently a story about that kind of thing... evidence that it happens, and since Japan is all about covering up shit like that, Id say it happens more often than we know. Also, Ive known some of these hostesses, and the vast majority of those DID provide sex at some point or another, so your personal experience is no where near the norm.

That video... has confirmed everything I thought poledancing was. My image of poledancing= strip club atmosphere. Dimmed lights, disco balls, shitty music, etc. I watched the video and it showed dimmed lights, disco balls... not sure about the music since im at work, but yeah... they may as well call it competitive strip club...ing.

Diggerdog, Nintendo's first crappy console was the N64. That had TERRIBLE support, very few good games, and they were still using cartridges when the rest of the world was using Cds.

This is just as rediculous as Blacks wanting restitution from the american government for the slave era. If said people were still alive Id be all for it. THEY deserve the money/apology. However much like the blacks in america, very few of the victims are alive, and probably even fewer of the people who commited the act are. Why should this generation pay for something that people (related or not) did in ages past? I enslaved no one, I raped no one, I should pay nothing for someone else's mistake 70+ years ago.

Mittsu hit the nail on the head. Prior to being married, "oh shit you missed your last train" worked so often that it was almost a staple line.
Outside of that obvious HUGE plus, the people who live near the railways would probably appreciate at least the 4-6 hours (depending on location) they get of quiet. In addition, night pay would be a requirement and JR is already stingy enough as is.... not gonna happen.

If she was in a situation that she was doing this because she NEEDED money, not because she WANTED money, the I sympathize with her and her family.
However if she was just doing this because she was greedy, then she played with fire and got burnt.
I wish that stories like this would discourage young women, especially attractive ones with a good head on her shoulders, would discourage this kind of "easy money" jobs.

Unfortunately almost all English jobs are the same save a few. Employees are treated like a battery, when this one runs out of energy, the next one is already in the queue to take its place. Japan has a mysterious aura to those who havent actually lived here for more than a couple years. So the lines will be forming to come to "teach" and the process continues.

Assuming said woman is doing a good job in her position (Not tea serving and answering phones) they should get paid well enough to live comfortably, just like any man. My wife worked for a security officer dispatch as the ONLY PAYROLL clerk and made less than 1/2 of what I make, while working more hours per week. Its pretty damn sick.
