Because we're doing such a great job of it! Any way aren't most of the DPJ guys ex-LDP these days?
Please voter san don't make me unemployed like I have you - how would I spend my free time? I can only spend so much of the money I have grabbed from you over the last 50 years there simply isn't time to spend the rest!

Employers have every right to black access to internet and monitor email - it is a companies resource. It may even be the law in Japan to monitor email or at least store it as that is the first thing the inspectors ask for should they pay a company a visit.

because the world is more scared of China than Japan - Japan's day is over and I really would be surprised if very, very soon it loses it's place as the worlds second largest economy - if it has not already done so

what a bunch of croc! The escalator thing is not just a Croc thing but any kind of sandal/thong whatever you want to call them. That's why so many of them have yellow lines round the edge and notices to stay inside the yellow line.

the half of a J league game I saw was all individual which is why it was so boring and we left at half time.
Individually they have fantastic skills but as a team they (generally) suck - looking at the national side that is

People ask about the Chinese - but what about the Russians? They seem to be taking over South East Asia and try getting near the buffet if there are Russian teenagers in the room - worse than American teenagers if you can believe that.
I often find the French the worst at trying to us language even though like most countries they learn English for 6 years at school you would not believe it!!

Tokyo is actually not that big a city and much quicker to get around by bike. The problem this time of year is the humidity and you need a 20 minute cold shower at the other end....
As a cyclist and a driver in this city the thing that hacks me off the most is that most cyclists pay no attention to the rules of the road. If you are on the road (and you should be IMHO) then the rules apply to you too - stop at the lights, don't cross the yellow lines etc.
And by far the most stupid thing to do on a bike is have your earphones in and the music cranked up - sooner or later Darwin is going to be giving you an award!

I used to love Sony products but got fed up with all the propriety stuff - it will take something seriously impressive and innovative for me to buy a Sony product again
