they should have paid the full 40.7 bn yen. How this error occurred was just farcical! The price they claimed the price was so far out of tolerance that the system did not pick it up - I hope they sacked whoever was responsible for the QA. First price test you do is zero, then negative then something completely out of tolerance.
Allegedly they had a tolerance check but that had a range - what numskull thought that was a good idea!!!!!!
TSE please go back to QA 101.

good catch but what was that boy doing on the window ledge? I hope the teacher responsible is suspended and that he/she has to pay any medical bills the lady might encounter - I doubt she got off scott free.

he is the reason I gave up watching CNN when they changed to CNNj and put that jerk on in the morning Tokyo time. Hard to stomach my breakfast with him spouting off!

jiu jitsu - at least the way I was taught and taught it with real life scenarios including defense against Altira's broken bottles! Actually I almost missed one in my 2 kyu grading which could have been messy but I saw it just in time - attacker had very big hands and the clear bottle was broken off almost at the rim....

I would say that there is already a clash between the islamic fundamentalists and the rest of the world. It is of their making in their belief that the only real people are those that follow the islamic religion.
Fortunately most Muslims are not that way inclined and are in general a peaceful, law abiding group. And fortunately most of the rest of the world also realise this.
There are nutters in every religion - but thankfully usually in a minority, at least for the larger recognised religions.

got bored of CNN years ago - even before I had the choice of BBC World which I do now.
What killed it for me is when they went CNNj bringing you the news you wanted to see! Well WRONG! Let me see, ditch local Asian content so the marines could watch Larry King at Breakfast and Good Morning America at dinner time - morons. (CNN that is - not the marines!)

must be a slow news day as they truck out this old question again!
It's not dead but there is virtually no pulse - we all know that. It saddens me when you see old ladies giving up their seats for old men when there is a young punk there pretending to be asleep.
I gave up me seat in the middle of a carriage last week when I noticed the "I'm pregnant badge" - I think she went into shock! She did not show so I could only but assume the badge was legitimate.
But there was this one occasion when I was getting off the subway in shibuya when I was barely to my feet a little old nun came flying out of nowhere and was sitting in my seat! If I had decided it was the wrong stop and sat back down I would not have noticed until I had squashed her!!!!

Nice gesture - maybe a tad too low but then the Emperor is quite short so it is accentuated
