I can't believe how the phrase "Ground Zero" has been hijacked by the media. Sure 9/11 was an awful tragedy, but putting it in the same league as a nuclear explosion is just wrong.

This "family man with the obligatory Japanese wife and mixed-race child(ren)" no longer has hair, so don't be asking my advice, son. Now get off my lawn!

Often wondered if I'd be arrested driving a truck all over town asking Japan's politicians to clean up their act. No offensive messages or anything, just a foreigner in a truck with a loud speaker. Do you need a permit for this activity? I bet I'd be shut down in a second.

Sarge, indeed some would, but the overall majority of the population would benefit from the importation of everyday goods that are taken for granted in both Israel and Egypt.
Not every Palestinian is a terrorist, yet they are all treated as such.
Systematically reducing the Palestinians freedom and access to a normal life, by creating walls and imposing sanctions, will cause more and more Palestinians to turn to extremism every day.

It wouldn't be smuggling if Palestine were free to import and export whatever it chooses, like .. I dunno .. Israel and Egypt are free to do.

What your missing is that the Charisma Man image is how Charisma Man sees himself. A blonde, blue eyed, super hero that beautiful Japanese women adore. In the comic, it is only when "Western Woman" is in frame with Charisma Man that the artist draws the true geeky, unattractive Charisma Man and reveals the beautiful woman he is with to be much less than so.
The joke being that Charisma Man and the women he is with are living in a self created delusion, and only Western Woman sees the truth.

Disillusioned. Not defaming Australians, but if Australians were truly passionate about the issue wouldn't they pressure the Rudd Government into action? Australians, Americans, Japanese, Canadian, Swiss, whoever, if it is an issue that Government action can resolve then press for government action or accept the fact that the practice will continue.

Mansen. That's exactly right. But while the anti-whaling Australians may support Sea Shepherds activities, most won't get out of their armchairs and actually do anything constructive like protest to their government and make a change. Apathy, its a national pastime.

Mansen. If they're in Australian waters Australia won't do anything because Japan is Australia's largest trade partner and Australia are not going to risk upsetting that relationship for the sake of a few whale sandwiches.

I believe (and you're welcome to believe otherwise) that Sea Shepherd went to the Southern Ocean in their flimsy pleasure craft with the sole intention of causing an accident to beat up a media frenzy and anti-whaling sentiment.
Sea Shepherd won't be happy until someone dies as it will take that kind of tragedy to halt this years hunt. But next year the hunt will continue.

Damien15. Greenpeace has nothing to do with this.
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is a separate entity unaffiliated with Greenpeace founded by Paul Watson. Watson was an early member of Greenpeace but left the organization after being expelled from the board of directors owing to his confrontational methods.
Greenpeace themselves criticize the Sea Shepherds tactics.
