Is it just a parade? In Denver, it's a festival. There's a parade and booths set up plus a stage too, I think. I remember when PrideFest started, it was a pitiful parade (not enough participants to call it a parade) and nothing else. Now it's no different from other festivals. Lots of booths and all.

I was on the Musashino line heading into Nishi Funabashi station when my phone alerted me. I'm pretty clueless on the shaking when on the train so I was not at all worried. I did wonder if the trains would be held up but Tozai line was only a minute or so delayed.

Thanks, gyouza. I wonder if there is some sort of way to find out who did what. I'm curious as to what these people accomplished.

Who are the lucky guests? Commoners of a certain age from a certain prefecture or ward (Tokyo-to Minato-ku Azabu)? Or loyal komuins?

I recall hearing about this woman and seeing her on tv. My sister-in-law and everyone else around us marveled about this plain Jane charming all those men into giving her money. Inner beauty (?!?!!!)...

Agree with Al Stewart. When I scanned the headline, I thought "poor thing" then I read the article and I was taken aback. I can empathize with her over her stress and exhaustion in caring for a terminally ill spouse but stabbing him to death?! I thought she gave him an overdose of his medication or sleeping pills or left the gas on. Slitting the wrists would have been a better alternative than stabbing him...

20 some years ago, there was a manga on television in which a chef used all sorts of ingredients and spices. He used a can of coke as a sauce to cook chicken in a pot over the stove. I cracked up when I read "...PET..."; are there any soda companies selling 500 ml of soda in glass bottles? Why specifically PET bottles? 500 ml of Coke will do...

Ditto nsg79. Guess Kozo Sushi needs some bright bulbs or they weighed the costs of the purchase/installation/whatever of CCTVs versus KS man going around giving training and decided to go with the training.

How funny, Okinawamike. My friend told me her brother was a sushi chef in Okinawa and when a punk entered the restaurant and demanded money, he waved the knife he was using and told the punk, "Come right up to my face and tell me again what you want." The punk fled. It probably helped that my friend's brother was a big guy who used to play football.

Ultrack, you have sharp eyes to notice the girl on the right has on footless stockings. BTW, Go Hiromi looks well preserved, eh? I wonder if the other former heartthrobs are looking as good. Other guys like Noguchi Goro, Saijo Hideki and all...

@Serrano if you click on the photo and zoom in, you'll notice she has on tan fishnet stockings. She is NOT wearing socks! Puh-leez, who in tarnation puts on a bikini, socks and heels? No girl, no drag queen and not even an obasan from Okinawa going for a dip in the ocean around this time of the year!

I had to chuckle when I read "Japanese are very good at forgetting..." as it brought to mind the Japanese take on WWII. Revisionist history... The Japanese won't learn to think and act individually. The ones who do don't stay. The ones who want to leave but aren't able to do so are battling a no win situation.
Posted in: Japanese are very good at forgetting and forgiving, which can be good in some ways, but in a situation like this, I think we should not forget and learn to think and act for ourselves, don't leave everything to the government.
