Your fears have not been justified, just your hysteria and been further intensified.
Crimes like this are anomalous in Japan and anyone who has lived here should know that.
As I have already mentioned, this crime was terrible but nobody living in Osaka needs to be cowering in fear.
Oh, and if anyone in my employ was too scared to go to Osaka for work - it would be time for them to find a job which doesnt require being a real man as a pre-requisite.

Wow - brutal and very tragic. This is my neighbourhood and I have never felt threatened when walking at night.
The fact that it was a random attack on a foreigner, and women were involved makes this a very odd case.

Yeah, but poor administration didnt stop Bush Jr, Clinton or Reagan from being re-elected. The advantage in their corner was the challenger was unlikable.
The economy may be bombing but you need a decent choice to vote for. Mondale, Dole and Kerry just werent likable enough to vote for. Romney is in the same boat.

They are going to tear apart his constitutional ignorance, his lack of experience in Washington, his hypocrisy in his roles as a business man and a politician, his draft-dodging, his flip-flopping, his lack of friends within the Republican party and the fact he is a liberal from Massachusetts.
The Democrats will attack his role as CEO of Bain Capital. Is that fair? No. Is it going to help the Democrats - you bet. For the Republicans to win, they have to win over the old-school blue-collar Dems who could swing if tempted. Are they going to swing towards "Mr Inspiriational" Romney? Heck no. Romney, born into money, got even more money and more power and now wants to show off while offering nothing?
Romney has a big problem - nobody loves him. Nobody cares about him and nobody is going to take that extra trouble of going out on election day to vote for him. The Democrats will have about $600 million to spend on their campaign and Romney is going to be ducking mud from every angle - a position he is more than used to taking when deciding his policies.

But that was 2 decades ago in a time when serve-volley tennis on slow courts meant you didnt have to be a triathlete to win a big one. These days you have to be 6-foot minimum, 85 kilos and have lats like steel.

Do you honestly think Romney can beat Obama? Honestly? I mean cross-your-heart honest?
If you do, the GOP is dying to hear from you because it has no idea. In fact, the old school GOP is cringing at the idea of nominating a Mormon. They would rather a Catholic before a Mormon.
The Republican Party doesnt have a clue how to beat Obama. This nomination has been a farce so far and Obama has barely spent a dime. Wait til the Dems break out the cheque book. And if you think Mittens has taken a beating so far, wait until the mud starts coming from the other guys.
I am seriously waiting for your reply here. Like Obama or not, he is going to stomp on the GOP this fall.
