He later wandered into the living room at about 11pm, holding his keitai to inform me that I was lying and he could no longer trust me... :-)

I'm going to play devil's advocate here, but I imagine the father knew exactly who was causing the problem and decided that the problem was going to end. And I dont think that his daughter is going to get hassled too much anymore.
Most of us get up on our high-horses and accuse Japanese fathers of not doing enough for their children and while I dont condone violence against anyone, you have to say that this father wasnt going to stand idly by and see his daughter end up like so many others have.

Tut tut! I dont think it is right to expect a group of reasonably "educated" individuals who have been raised to believe whatever the government and media says to have a balanced approach to justice. Snickers in Japan used to come from Australia and they were very decent.
Now they come from Russia and they aint as good no more.
The little mini ones are still from Australia and you can totally taste the difference.

Interesting race for the GOP.
Romney cant get up over 23%, Gingrich is the polar opposite of what ultra-Republicans want (not a delightful history for this washed up loser) and next down the line in Ron Paul. While America cold do with Paul, there is no way the old Republican guard would touch him.

Get used to Obama until 2016 and if the GOP dont have things sorted out by then, another Clinton administration - ewww.

My boys Cerezo had a huge win but today belongs to Kashiwa. I am sure they will celebrate with some green tea and kinoko mochi into the wee hours, sitting politely and discussing how to improve next year.
