Damn shugotokumaru - you beat me to it! I put a video of this wrapper up on youtube a while back, it was taken down for 'advertising copyright' of all things!

What the hell's he complaining about? He knew the system! He had the chance to save his money during his lifetime...but I guess he forgot that he has the right to protest and demand better from his own government! Probably complaining because he doesn't have enough to go to pachinko!

I think the reason the number has dropped is obvious - Japanese people are realising the value of the things they buy and that they DO last longer than the store tells them!! Bit like garages telling you it's necessary to change the oil every 5,000kms or the computer store telling you it's necessary to buy a new computer every two years!

Besides, if you live in an area where there are no trucks that come around for such stuff, and live in the city, the stores will ask you to pay THEM to get rid of it! Alternatively, you could melt it down and collect the gold from it! Probably enough to buy a burger and coke at Maccy D's!

    evil robot:

I can't believe you all scolding this woman! Children are constantly being neglected, left alone with guns, knives, in SUVs parked miles away from the grocery store entrance to boil, all kinds of crazy stuff. It's amazing that this even makes national news here. This is nothing new or remarkable.<

I don't know which part of Japan you live in mate, but for the rest of us, we don't here 'constant' news about such things. Kids with guns in SUV's, parked 'miles away from the grocery store entrance to boil' - gee, sounds more like a fictional script from a B-movie rather than actuality of real life here in Japan. I'm sorry you think the death of an innocent 1 year old due to the stupidity of the mother is 'nothing new or remarkable' - I'm sure the family of the child feel much better knowing that and that child's spirit doesn't mind not feeling special.

It makes me sick to hear this kind of story. Irresponsible and stupid - a typical mix for many here in Japan. I hope that child rests in peace. The mother should be given a jail term for negligence resulting in manslaughter.

As for pachinko parlours, the less there are of those hovels the better.

rjd_jr: steady on! Just because porn exists, doesn't mean we're all into it! I agree with you that it does prey on young and vulnerable women, but a lot of those women are also perfectly capable of making up their own minds as well as knowing that they can be paid a LOT of money for doing something they like doing - having sex!!

I'm not against pornography at all, but I do believe it should be heavily monitored by industry watchdogs. Sex is a natural thing for those of us that enjoy it. And it sure helps relieve the stress when you are married to a partner who has given up their sex life for whatever reasons!

Question is, would you rather have people watch porn or cheat on their spouse?

My wife loves Tulips. This is a completely senseless crime and I hope they can get whoever did this. It takes a lot of effort to chop up 1000 tulips, so obviously someone has a grudge somewhere along the line. When they do find the culprit, they should fine that person at 1000yen per tulip!

One easy way to put a stop to this sort of crime: have them steal MY wife's undies! One look at those and they'd never do it again! I'm just glad our washing line is hidden by the garden walls!

The story is NOT correct! It's not now and never has been, a festival for 'protection against STD's' - where the news reporter gets his/her information from is questionable.

The festival is to celebrate the penis (can we still use this word given the amount of squeamish idiots in the world today who still live by Victorian values?) as a bringer of life.

And who came up with this festival? A man! In the vain hopes of stirring the sexual interests of young women! Why don't we have a similar festival for female genitalia? That's one I'd be more than happy to attend! But, oh, I forgot, we live in a world where just thinking about sex as a man, means you're some kind of sick pervert!

Many models are nothing more than tall and skinny, making them ideal for photographic dimensions. Doesn't mean they're pretty. Each to their own I guess...and she isn't my type by a long shot, ergo, she's not that pretty, ergo: I'm entitled to my opinion!

She could have said "He told me to do it. At first I refused, but he assured me it was a new magic trick, and that he would be perfectly okay. I did as he asked, but he didn't do the trick correctly!"

End of story, she could then go home, have a nice cup of green tea and watch David Copperfield on the tube!

Rubbish! Slip out of sight? Any good parent would be keeping an eye on them when they take them out in public. Not letting them wander off while they concentrate on their golf swing!!

I don't care what anyone says, Japanese parents are among the most ignorant when it comes to safety and kids!

Yeah, resetting didn't work for me, and I'm having to use my old account. The one I used for years before this change was Samrinoma.

Eastokyo - if it makes you feel any better bro, I've been here just one year longer and still as incompetent and whingy too! lol.
